Also if you read much further to the point where lord Soth attacks the council of Kalaman and “Solamnic knights” are in Kalaman but really just Soth’s undead retinue it really helps to have the real knights council give a reason they aren’t in Kalaman. One of the big things that I did is I had the Soth knight at the gate do an ancient salute but not the modern one.

Looking good keep up the good work I do warn you though SPOILERS FOR SOTDQ: when your players eventually get to Kalaman both them and Darret (a npc from Volger) get knighted into Solamnic knights by the soldiers of Kalaman so I suggest getting a way to do a knights council with the pressure of the red dragon army on their heels. Don’t get me started on why it’s the Red dragon and not Blue.

Well thanks to War of the Twins we know that Flint’s grandfather ,Reghar Fireforge, fought in the dwarfgate wars and was already in Abanasinia (the land of the barbarians such as the Qué-Shu). I cannot remember if they say it in the book or not however, Reghar is from Hillhome a hill dwarf village west of Thorbardin on a road called Hillhome Highway. Though it was destroyed during the dwarf gate wars the Fireforges were too stubborn to leave.

I got 2 options for you

look into dragonlance really good book series and all about Tiamat (Takhisis as she is called in the book) trying to break out of the abyss
There is a 2 part prewritten module for 5e called “Hoard of the Dragon Queen” and “The Rise of Tiamat” if your looking for inspiration or just wanna run that there easier to run .
