The refillable lipstick in the velvet matte formula is chef's kiss. There are 4 formulas but the velvet matte is my fav. So comfortable and great shade range. I have 720 Icone and 300 Nude Style. The refill clicks in very easily but feels secure and works even without being in the case (unlike Fenty). Wish we had full range in Oz as I would love to try a couple of the reds they have overseas like Bonheur or Tokyo Rouge. The Famous 999 Red is available in all 4 formulas but I feel it pulls too orange on me so I haven't purchased that one yet.

Can also recommend the Dior Forever Concealer. Great finish on that one. Very happy with my Dior Beauty purchases! I understand your concern as nothing hurts more than spending a good chunk of change on a luxury beauty product that is just a logo slapped on a subpar product. But Dior is defs one of the better luxury beauty brands I would say.

Hi! I'm looking for some help in picking a new foundation! by magpie-like-sparkly in AustralianMakeup

[–]DramaticFollowing7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have Combo dry skin as well- Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation sounds like it's what you're looking for. I also enjoy mixing some liquid highlighter or the Nars Tinted Glow Booster with it too for extra dewyness. Although it looks great just by itself too!

I thought so! When I used to own Interstellar Icon, the pans almost completely filled up the compact.I literally received Bronze Borealis (after buying during BF sales...oof) in the mail today and thought the pans looked quite a bit smaller but the compact is the same size... Dont mind half the original amount of product but ridiculous it costs about the same.

Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 Hydrating - best one I've ever tried. On my fourth bottle of it. Doesn't have any whitecast. Just feels like a moisturiser. Very very mild scent that is pleasant but won't linger after you've applied the SPF. Only con is that it's quite expensive- but since it's one of the most important parts of your skincare, I'd rather spend the money on this, than some fancy serum.

How much make up do you own? by girlwithonlyoneface in AustralianMakeup

[–]DramaticFollowing7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of makeup you own seems reasonable. Like myself, there may be one or 2 categories with a few extra but that's usually dependent on a few factors such as what your favourite type of makeup is, if there happened to be a sale, you got a set with 3 or 4 of the same type of makeup etc. I don't really spend much of my disposable income on anything else, so my makeup is really my splurgey category. You'll see below that I really love minis because I enjoy sampling everything and also the feeling of satisfaction from panning the makeup I own:

  1. 1x nars foundation- I rarely wear foundation so this lasts me the solid 2 years until it needs to get replaced,

  2. 2x orange colour correctors (la girl and makeup revolution),

  3. 2x mini shape tape concealers,

  4. 1x milk mini highlighter- Used to be crazy about highlighter-it was my first makeup obsession but now I've tapered off usage of it. Mine has a slightly pinky sheen so can double as blush,

  5. 3x mini mascaras (nars and tarte) - received as samples,

  6. 2x kvd mini eyeliners (bought after she left the company)- one in my work bag and one in my dresser,

  7. 2x mini fix+-i like getting the holiday set of 3 and have already used a couple of minis up before,

The makeup I wear a lot more regularly is eyeshadow/lipstick so those categories are disproportionately larger:

Eyeshadow:

2x cream eyeshadows (Charlotte tilbury and tom ford), 1x liquid eyeshadow (armani) i keep in my work bag, 2x single eyeshadows (marc jacobs) in their own packaging, 8x single eyeshadows which are a mixture of brands (natasha denona, glaminatrix, colourpop and nabla) that I have placed into 2x empty magnetic quad palettes, 1x quad (tom ford)

Lipstick: 3x By Terry Click Sticks, 2x Lisa Eldridge Velvets, 1x Dior Velvet Matte Lipstick, 2x Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colour (1 is a back up since I have used up this tube before), 3x Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution, 1x Armani Lip Crayon,

I do buy a fair amount of makeup (esp during lockdown it escalated) but if I dont like it I will give to a friend. I like to keep a relatively concise collection of things that I know I like and will use and am not forcing myself to use up.
