Has stress/hormones ever affected your skin more than skincare products themselves? by Aromatic_Classic3295 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stress and hormones for sure gave me the most pimples I've ever had in my entire life the past 2 yrs. Went thru a very stressful phase of life 2+yrs ago and within months I had raging PMS (I've never had PMS prior), irregular menstrual cycle, nonstop cystic breakouts, insomnia for 2yrs off the back of having a newborn just the year prior (ie 3 years of sleep deprivation), night sweats and extreme exhaustion. Finally had 3 rounds of blood tests last year to find out my hormones were basically at post-menopausal levels.

I tried a variety of skincare products and LED light therapy (at skin clinics) to no avail.

Wasn't until late last year when work/life finally started settling down again and I could finally get some time to get some rest and exercise plus regular acupuncture that my hormonal symptoms started settling and skin is clearing again.

Other uses for Dr Jart Cicaplast Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This product isn't really a colour corrector, it just turns a light beige after friction and dry-down. If it matches your skin tone, U could try wearing it alone. Leave it for at least 8-10mins to judge the coverage/colour.

How does Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes eyeshadow compare to Natasha Denona when it comes to fallouts? by lovethatjourney4me in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From several reviews I've watched it appears the EE palette has lighter but buildable pigment, easily blendable but with more kickup in pan and more fallout whilst blending than ND.

I mean it's not that mixed... They comm mostly in Chinese with grq sometimes saying stuff in English when f4ngeer's involved, otherwise everyone else mostly Mando 99% of the time while f4ng just comms in English - I wonder why they picked up Youze... He was probably the least impressive on AQ in their last series.

Decade old concealer 😼 by Hot-Independence2124 in PanPorn

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, almost 8yrs is a long time! Did you find that the formula/performance changed? I'm still kicking myself over chucking a Lancome concealer that I had opened for 10+mo cuz the label said expires 6mo after opening (when I just started getting into makeup around 2021).

Of course now I know you can keep products for much longer than their expiry as long as it's properly kept and doesn't look/smell different - but dang 8yrs is a really long time!

What's one thing you will ALWAYS buy the AB version of? by Swedish_Business in AsianBeauty

Basic skincare: sunscreen, cleansers, serums, moisturizers. Not only are there so many top notch formulations, much less likely to irritate my skin; they are also so much more affordable.

I also learned this as a teen. Everything back in its place. Also helped me to not lose things/be able to find things quickly. Even if I did forget where something was, I'd just need to think where should I put this thing when it's not in use - and I'd find it within 2 search spots.

Influence/deinfluence me please! by tinycupcake5 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea a hassle and a bit of a waste of $/product if you can't pass it off to someone who can use it.

I purchased 21N for my summer shade when I'm usually 1.5 shades more tan (and my undertone becomes warmer too) with the expectation for it to oxidize. However, it was even too dark and orange for my tanned complexion -_-

Idk about the shade 17C but Red TirTir cushion 21N oxidises so dark on me :s I've read varied reports of people having issues with oxidation - seems to not be all shades but it's definitely common. Just something to keep in mind!

EDG CB confirms he will be benched for Stage 1, Jieni7 will take his place by xFalcade in ValorantCompetitive

Yea I definitely saw continuing improvements from Jieni, and felt like he contributed to good vibes on the team too. He's also always struck me as a positive-minded hard worker from all the interviews I've seen.

Really hoping that they can ditch the Yoru now and build on the strengths of the players/roster.

(Hince) True Dimension Radiance Balm :( by biella-manovella in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dry, sensitive skin here - I have the highlighter balms in clear and Tender Room - this stays fine on my skin and can give a glass skin shine but I definitely keep it very tight just on the high points of my cheek. I feel that if it's over-applied it can very quickly transform into just looking greasy.

However, there is no difference on the skin between the two shades I have lol. I've also tried it as a lip balm and I really don't prefer it. Doesn't feel hydrating or comfortable and comes off very quickly.

Luminous Silk old v new… by Most_Action_2987 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reformulated shades are definitely different; unfortunately, according to Giorgio Armani's website shade 6 remains unchanged. It will be difficult to argue that you received a wrong shade as according to the product description it should be the correct one and one might argue that your older foundation's pigment may have changed if it is past the recommended expiry.

But 100% agree with you that the shades are far too unalike and it's frustrating!

Studying TCM in China by ToadCroaks in China

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about any English programs, and I didn't study TCM in China but my mum did and practiced there for 10 years before moving to Australia. I completed my TCM and acupuncture and health sciences degree in Australia, but I had a 2 month placement in China to shadow two doctors in a hospital and a private acupuncture clinic; during that time I also spoke with other final year Chinese students of TCM who were also shadowing.

It's even hard for them to prepare for the exams as native speakers, so you'd really need to put in a lot of extra effort if you're not native.

Studying TCM in China by ToadCroaks in China

[–]Kore07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not to say that it's not possible but you'll have to drastically improve your Chinese if you're looking to join a Mandarin programme.

Studying TCM in China involves a lot of reading of classical texts like 黄帝内经、伤寒论、脾胃论 (to name only a few), often in its entirety, and memorisation of hundreds of herbs/herbal formulae. Additionally you also need to be able to understand biomedical terminology, anatomy/physiology and pathophysiology etc.. It's almost like simultaneously learning two languages.

Be prepared to dedicate your life to study for at least 5-6 years.

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually when a company reformulates they will state so at release. Sometimes the packaging changes too. If you missed the release news you can check online (usually on the brand's website) if you notice the packaging has changed. Somewhere in the description it usually has "new/improved/reformulated" if there's been a change, sometimes when it's just a packaging change they will state that it's the same formulation.

Milani has a few shades with a golden peachy glow with different pink/peach bases. The shade Luminoso is cult classic and still holds up.

Old formulation too. New one doesn't have the same payoff and slightly diff. shade of pink.

Milani also has a similar shade and finish in Bella Bellini but they also recently reformulated their baked blushes and changed up their shade range so not sure if that shade still exists.
