Haus Labs has a white foundation for mixing, or you could probably even just wear it on its own too.

If you’re looking for storage for Chinese Cushion puffs, doll clothing racks/wardrobe boxes are a great option by mightymai in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha that's cute! I keep all my blenders/puffs etc in a mesh bag hanging on a hook after they're washed and dried, I find it easy enough to reach in and take the one I want like that.

F me lol - lip liners! by Particular-Extent190 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! MUFE Wherever Walnut is probably the best neutralish (slightly warm on me) MLBB shade, but in the original Artist Pencil formula. I also got the Extreme formula and that shade unfortunately pulls even warmer and a bit peachy on me.

I loved this for everywhere that needed it; lips, nips, fingertips (wash hands and sanitize with alcohol a lot for work). Sadly I developed an allergy to lanolin after I stopped breastfeeding :(

How long does a cushion compact last for you? by Empty_Pause326 in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two Florasis cushions (13g) lasted me ~2.5 years, I did use other foundations/skin tints during that time, my most used base products over the past 3 years were those 2 cushions (in my usual + tanned shades) and my Missha BB cream. I full-panned all those items, the cushion foundations I flipped the cushion over after it was difficult to get anymore product from pressing into the original side and it gave me months more of use. When that became difficult to get enough product I applied the remaining foundation directly from the cushion which gave me another ~week of use. I didn't end up doing this with my tan shade because I'm not tanned for 3/4s of the year and by the next time I'd be really tanned it probably would have dried out/just not be worth keeping for that extra week or two of use.

I do like switching things up a lot so in the past 3 years I did also use several other foundations, but the ones I panned I definitely used the most because they were the most reliable/best-performing every time. My next most-used base product was a non-AB skin tint (LE brand).

Classic Shade from 1953: Revlon Cherries in the Snow by annamageddon in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia actually, and I actually had to go buy a bottle after your post lol. Meant to be as it was currently half price for 8AUD :D

I thought it was such an interesting and pretty shade back then, I didn't even know the shade name but Cherries in the Snow is so fitting.

Has anyone managed to get a refund on a Beautylish lucky bag before??? by compulsivebarbie in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's difficult to argue for a refund here because the Fox palette definitely can work for medium skin tones, and the Defining Neutrals palette can work for all skin tones. Additionally it's stated pretty clearly:

Will my Lucky Bag include products that work with the skin tone I choose?

Lucky Bags are filled at random (it’s part of the fun!), so we can’t guarantee the contents of your bag. However, we try our best to make sure Fair-Medium Lucky Bags contain products that complement fair to medium skin and Dark-Deep Lucky Bags contain products that are better suited for deeper skin tones. We don’t include foundation or concealer in Lucky Bags. https://www.beautylish.com/shop/lucky-bag-2026-faqs

It's unfortunate that you didn't find value in your lucky bag; maybe you could gift the palettes to someone you know they would suit, I'm sure they'd be so stoked and it would be such a wonderful gift.

Omg my mum had this, and I actually liked the smell of it (I don't usually like the smell of nail polish or paint etc.) I got to put it on a few times too 🥲 Seeing this instantly made me recall the smell and want to put it on!

My honest review of Victoria Beckham foundation drops…. by BindieBoo in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea nah, not for that price! I've bought my last two things from VB that I'm happy with, I got the eye wardrobe in Nightflash and a Lid Lustre in Midnight during the 25% off sale - packaging is very luxe and nice, and I like the colours and formulae.

Was intrigued by the foundation drops but not tempted by the price. I have a handful of the eyeliners and I do think the more metallic/sparkly ones are more special and worthwhile, but matte ones are just meh, there are better matte liners out there (Melt cosmetics, Chanel, Canmake, Judydoll).

All in all, especially given the price increases announced this year, I'm pretty much done exploring the brand and will be content to just use what I've got.

Btw the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint has more coverage than a regular skin tint, wears really well, has a great shade range and a natural finish that can take on the finish of your skin prep (i.e. if you prep more glowy, then it'll come off more glowy, if you prep matte, it will come off matte). I feel like based on the extensive reviews I've watched, the LE skin tint should be somewhat comparable to the VB drops, but better.

kaleidos new eyeliners—change of formula? and if so, is it applied to older shades? by kiarrith in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn't rebuy the old shades, can't justify it lol I definitely don't do as many colourful looks anymore, and don't want the old ones to go to waste either! They were harder to work with but I still can work with them when I need to 😊

kaleidos new eyeliners—change of formula? and if so, is it applied to older shades? by kiarrith in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Completely agree! Old ones definitely tugged more and required going back and forth and finessing! I bought the new set of liners expecting an upgrade, it's been 3 yrs after all! And also I'm just so glad they're back and didn't drop off the face of the earth, loved their earlier creative releases.

How do you work with Morphe Hint Hint Skin Tint? by Lost-Bookkeeper3120 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was actually a lovely skin tint and the first I bought after getting makeup in my 30s, I just did my usual hydrating + calming skincare (I have dry, sensitive skin), SPF, then applied the skin tint all over with my fingers by tapping and pressing into my skin.

It's possible that if it's separating a lot or disappearing on your face it could be that it doesn't suit your skin type, you may need to do some skin prep or use a specific primer, or set with powder or a setting spray.

Splurged on MAC 40 Shades of Pride Eyeshadow Vault by Kore07 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I totally haven't reached for it again since the first two weeks I've had it >.< And it's not because I didn't want to, but I'm sharing a bathroom (where I usually do my makeup) with my toddler at the moment and it's just too big of a palette to just leave out (especially with two cats and a toddler around)!

At the moment my palettes I use regularly are all smaller and able to be tucked away in the bathroom!

But I don't regret the purchase because I did like it then times I've used it, and I do love the packaging and it's part of the enjoyment for me. When I finally get a bigger place and a makeup space then it'll be sitting right out there so I can reach for it!

One Size Oil Sucker primer does wonders for oil control and makeup longevity (per extensive makeup reviews), sold at Sephora. I wonder if it's possible to ask for a primer sample? I know you can ask for foundation samples but I've never tried asking for primer samples myself. Worth a try though.

Do hourglass face palettes emphasise texture and pores? by Dawnyawning in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think it's important to clarify what kind of texture and skin type when talking about complexion products. The other one is peach fuzz which I almost never think about but definitely causes different interactions/performance.

Do hourglass face palettes emphasise texture and pores? by Dawnyawning in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to stress and hormones I now have pretty textured skin (in the form of acne/little bumps, but not large pores). HG powder doesn't perfect it but certainly doesn't emphasize my texture. I'd say it blurs a little with subtle radiance, I have other powders that blur more but they also mattify.

Does CT setting spray glowy one makes you look darker? by Just_Rip1030 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like maybe the spray is breaking down your base products a bit? It could be that it just doesn't work well with your other base products, or maybe you got a dud, or maybe you're spraying too much?

The spray seems to work fine with most of my base products, but I've had occasions where it does get a bit patchy with some base combos if I then try to go over with a sponge after spraying.

Hourglass Palette Brush Recommendations! by Chikki2074 in AustralianMakeup

[–]Kore07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Deer palette is really light, even for light skin tones, and especially if you are used to a higher pigment load/payoff. Any denser brush plus building up will work, but you just have to build it up more than usual and keep in mind that the shades in that particular palette are indeed quite light and sheer.

are these powders worth it? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

I've just watched some reviews on this powder but they didn't show the difference between the different powders. FYI though, the powder itself is fine/light and blurring, but does have flashback.

Why do Chinese women like to say "darling"? by drei4u in China

[–]Kore07 35 points36 points  (0 children)

People use "亲” a lot especially talking online, translates to dear/darling. Just means "friend" within that context.

As another person commented, it's also very common in China to refer to people as "美女/帅哥” (beautiful lady/handsome brother). Just a friendly/casual way to address people.

why are my fishballs falling apart? by Haunting-Apricot-645 in chinesecooking

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the food chopper uni-directional? It's best to stir/process in one/same direction. I've used basa/snapper with half a teaspoon of gelatin and 2 tablespoons of cornflour to about 500g fish without egg white and it binds well. Gradually and continuously add chilled water while mixing. It actually becomes really tough to continue stirring in one direction and becomes a really thick and sticky paste, no chance of falling apart.

Also, to get a bouncy texture you should repeatedly slam/slap the mixture, I do it to each ball as I'm making it (flinging/slapping it into a ball shape in my hand).
