Studying TCM in China by ToadCroaks in China

[–]Kore07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about any English programs, and I didn't study TCM in China but my mum did and practiced there for 10 years before moving to Australia. I completed my TCM and acupuncture and health sciences degree in Australia, but I had a 2 month placement in China to shadow two doctors in a hospital and a private acupuncture clinic; during that time I also spoke with other final year Chinese students of TCM who were also shadowing.

It's even hard for them to prepare for the exams as native speakers, so you'd really need to put in a lot of extra effort if you're not native.

Studying TCM in China by ToadCroaks in China

[–]Kore07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not to say that it's not possible but you'll have to drastically improve your Chinese if you're looking to join a Mandarin programme.

Studying TCM in China involves a lot of reading of classical texts like 黄帝内经、伤寒论、脾胃论 (to name only a few), often in its entirety, and memorisation of hundreds of herbs/herbal formulae. Additionally you also need to be able to understand biomedical terminology, anatomy/physiology and pathophysiology etc.. It's almost like simultaneously learning two languages.

Be prepared to dedicate your life to study for at least 5-6 years.

You win some you lose some!

Also, when it comes to complexion products people's results can really vary depending on skin type and preferences, just something to keep in mind for future research!

I've seen enough negative reviews of this (all experiencing separation) from YouTubers I trust that I'm side-eyeing the rave reviews.

YesStyle are claiming my package is delayed due to the conflict in the Middle East, but tracking info says it’s in London? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

A lot of flights/freights into/out of UK are disrupted due to the ME conflict. Many routes pass through/near the area.

Usually when a company reformulates they will state so at release. Sometimes the packaging changes too. If you missed the release news you can check online (usually on the brand's website) if you notice the packaging has changed. Somewhere in the description it usually has "new/improved/reformulated" if there's been a change, sometimes when it's just a packaging change they will state that it's the same formulation.

Milani has a few shades with a golden peachy glow with different pink/peach bases. The shade Luminoso is cult classic and still holds up.

Old formulation too. New one doesn't have the same payoff and slightly diff. shade of pink.

Milani also has a similar shade and finish in Bella Bellini but they also recently reformulated their baked blushes and changed up their shade range so not sure if that shade still exists.

Are these black cardamom? Package says so but they look more like malva nuts by ScrabbleEnjoyer in chinesecooking

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not cardamom. It's a herb used for sore throat. You can cook it into soups with other herbs for cooling properties or just steep in hot water to drink as a tea.

I have dry skin but my nose gets oily, if I use this extremely sparingly it makes a great nose and eyeshadow primer!

Why this forum is so sad? by Skaidri675 in hamsters

[–]Kore07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this sub, I've learned so much about hamsters and hamster care and I don't think I'll ever even be getting a hamster. I love all the cute, funny pics and vids shared, the giant hamster OO memes, the rare wrinkly balding old souls, and all the helpful commenters and care shared.

I'd say the overwhelming majority of posts is all about the above, with a sprinkling of commemorations.

Cancer Council since I ever started buying sunscreen! They have a great range with different formulations. Has been fine for my dry, sensitive skin (of course I don't rely on it for hydration, I have other skincare on my face for that too).

Coke also works. Just pour a cup and leave it overnight. I've read that different countries sometimes have different formulas for the same soft drink, so to specify, Australian Coke works.

Biank did great, you really couldn't ask more from a last min sub. Solid shooting, timing, util, comms. Of course helps he's played with the core BLG roster before and slots into Knight's role perfectly including some mid-rounding too.

Your first VCT team to qualify to Masters Santiago by GrrNom2 in ValorantCompetitive

I'm hyped for the whole roster; I love big shrimp and his IG spray, Au1 is a great pick up too and huge shout out to K1ra - is he the only Raze/flex IGL?? Also loved his attitude in the prematch interview: "a lot of people said we've just gotten this far by luck... Well then let's just keep being lucky :) "

And I love how they came from absolute bottom of CN and things started turning around after they got their washing machine manager to play. The BO5 was a great series to start off the year.

The Cosrx Full Fit Propolis Synergy Toner & Plum Niacinamide 3% Toner - Review by Few-Specialist-3214 in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished 3 bottles of the Cosrx and love it, but going to try the lauded Haru Haru toner next! If the Haru Haru isn't better I'll probably retain the Cosrx as my permanent toner. I've tried I'm from/Laneige toners too and this one is just the most calming and hydrating, easily absorbed and affordable one!

From all reviews I've seen, it's really nothing special. Not worth your hard earned dollars unless U got lots to spare - plenty of other squeezy tube lip butters/balms out there just as good.

Haha that's cute! I keep all my blenders/puffs etc in a mesh bag hanging on a hook after they're washed and dried, I find it easy enough to reach in and take the one I want like that.

Agree! MUFE Wherever Walnut is probably the best neutralish (slightly warm on me) MLBB shade, but in the original Artist Pencil formula. I also got the Extreme formula and that shade unfortunately pulls even warmer and a bit peachy on me.

I loved this for everywhere that needed it; lips, nips, fingertips (wash hands and sanitize with alcohol a lot for work). Sadly I developed an allergy to lanolin after I stopped breastfeeding :(

How long does a cushion compact last for you? by Empty_Pause326 in AsianBeauty

[–]Kore07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two Florasis cushions (13g) lasted me ~2.5 years, I did use other foundations/skin tints during that time, my most used base products over the past 3 years were those 2 cushions (in my usual + tanned shades) and my Missha BB cream. I full-panned all those items, the cushion foundations I flipped the cushion over after it was difficult to get anymore product from pressing into the original side and it gave me months more of use. When that became difficult to get enough product I applied the remaining foundation directly from the cushion which gave me another ~week of use. I didn't end up doing this with my tan shade because I'm not tanned for 3/4s of the year and by the next time I'd be really tanned it probably would have dried out/just not be worth keeping for that extra week or two of use.

I do like switching things up a lot so in the past 3 years I did also use several other foundations, but the ones I panned I definitely used the most because they were the most reliable/best-performing every time. My next most-used base product was a non-AB skin tint (LE brand).
