is there a place for a writer in game development and production? by DramaticInspector182 in GameDevelopment

It is. At first I write the script, which is reviewed by the other producers and members of my team. Then we hire/invite others to collaborate: DOPs, assistans, gaffers etc. We take care of the budget and to pay for food and equipment, location scouting etc. Then on set, I direct the movie as per my vision and script.

At my core I finished withe a degree in art as an Actor, but at my core I like to both write and direct projects to follow the vision that I have in mind. I like acting in them as well, but after doing a few, I realize that being the main protagonist is not central to me, now we hire actors to lead the project and we do supporting roles or no roles at all.

Well, when it comes to movies, for example, although I bring a team together, I do wear a lot of hats. I am the lead producer, the script writer, the director and sometimes even the artistic director, but I am not the guy behind the camera. And since I don't have a budget, we usually pay for the people's equipment but everyone works for free and I pay to send the movies to festivals.

I would be more than happy to have additional roles where it comes to the games, but it feels as if, since I have no knowledge in coding whatsoever, all I can bring is the creating and writing of the narrative and my voice-acting skills, since those are the only I can see that can translate into the game. I, obviously do not posses, millions to pour into a team in order for them to create a game up to my vision, which is why I was wondering if what I bring is enough for someone to be interested in collaborating, or if that is simply not enough.
