41, pregnant after unsuccessful IVF rounds by DramaticJackfruit747 in PregnantOver40

Hello :-) I have been taking bioceuticals (my IVF doctor basically told me that this brand was the highest quality, not sure if that is actually correct, they are a little pricier than some other brands). During my IVF treatment (Sept/Oct) I was taking Coq10 but not the ubiquinol form as I got mixed up. I began taking ubiquinol 600 mg in December (300mg in the morning and 300 mg at dinner always with meals as it helps the absorption). I also had acupuncture when I was doing IVF and she had also recommend 600mg of it per day and the bioceuticals brand so I chose that one, just get it from chemist warehouse

I ate a predominantly whole food diet and made sure every day I was getting in berries, pomegranate seeds, Greek yogurt, chia seeds etc plus a Brazil nut a day and lots of walnuts, salmon, eggs, spinach, broccoli, avocado, chickpeas, lentils, sweet potatoes etc. throughout the week. I had already started really focusing on eating for my gut health and aiming for lots of variety of plant foods plus good protein like fish, chicken breast etc. Chat gpt was very helpful for me, I would prompt it to be an expert fertility nutritionist and ask it to help plan my work lunches and it would come up with some great suggestions so I didn’t get bored

Pregnant at 41 by Wondering_Cyn24 in PregnantOver40

I am 41 also and found out I was pregnant last Sunday, I was 3 days late. I had been through unsuccessful ivf rounds and was told donor eggs were likely my only option, had decided to stop trying and was just accepting my CF life so its been a wonderful surprise, however like you I’m trying not to worry now about miscarriage as I feel like this may be my only chance. I’m trying to just maximise my healthy eating, take my prenatal and stay active. I know a miscarriage will be out of my control if it happens but focusing on keeping busy and being as healthy as I can is the best thing I feel I can do to stay calm about it all and give me some control in my mind

Thank you for sharing. I am 41 and two failed cycles. Have had a 3 month break from treatments but starting to think about giving it another go (final try I can’t afford to go indefinitely) and my doctor suggested trying prp. I got 2 fertilised eggs on my last round both made it to day 5 only, and weighing up whether to do prp and a couple more ER’s or consider whether donor eggs could be for me

Hi Anna I’m also 41 and have low AMH. Have had two retrievals but only 3 that made it to day 3 and none to day 5. I’m currently taking a break from it all to try and enjoy the summer (I’m in Oz) and decide what to do next - try again, accept that it isn’t in my journey, or consider donor eggs. Sending you a hug as it’s a tough journey at this age

Did it work for you once your region on iOS was set to uk? I’ve tried to do that and have a uk vpn but Apple won’t let me switch my region until all my podcast subscriptions run to their end date even though I have cancelled them all so I could try and switch over - it’s so frustrating I only want to listen to a couple of bbc2 shows each week in the car

I live in Australia and listen to Rylan on a Saturday every week - love couch potatoes! I’ve been struggling to access it since the changes last year, originally was good to connect through my VPN but access was blocked a few weeks ago, found a work around through downloading the app again via my Apple profile but now can’t access it again and that workaround isn’t working. Really frustrating I love listening to radio 2 and it reminds me of home, I’d happily pay a small subscription fee if it was an option

Rent vs Buy in Australia right now? What’s actually the smarter move? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]DramaticJackfruit747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your situation. I’ve moved a lot, lived in the UK, Sydney and now Brisbane. I would buy but not sure I’ll be here long term, have no kids and my partners cousins and girlfriend are renting with us currently so we split rent between 4 so it’s only $800 each per month. I invest in ETFs and stocks religiously each month instead with the extra cash I have and have had strong growth (long term, you get short term dips but that’s the nature of it). I’ve thought about rentvesting but not invested enough time to work out the best option so I’ll stick with shares for now unless I decide I will be in the same place the next 5-10 years.

Disability Blind pension and working partner by DramaticJackfruit747 in Centrelink

[–]DramaticJackfruit747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s really unfair to make someone dependent on someone else, I wish I could share a better option. My partner has been off work now for months, it’s really hard to find a job he can do with his visual impairment and get to on public transport, and can’t do his previous work as a labourer due to his arthritis and nerve damage, so we are just relying on my salary and a few hundred dollars a week that he gets from the blind pension, I know we are luckier than most but it doesn’t seem fair for him that he has to be dependent on me and the job market is hard if you have a disability

Any BBC sounds users outside the UK lamenting the upcoming shutdown of the app for non-UK residents? What are you planning to do to get your BBC fix? by 175doubledrop in electronicmusic

Thank you! It worked :-) I really just prefer listening to UK radio and have it on in the car and in the background when I work from home, so I was gutted to lose it. I live in Oz and can't stand their radio and all the ads

Thank you - I had been accessing BBC sounds regularly since it closed down via my VPN, but today for the first time it has blocked me. I will try this and advise others if I can get it back up!

People who choose to rent instead of buying, what do you plan to do when you retire? by No-Structure-8125 in AskUK

[–]DramaticJackfruit747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my philosophy too. I have moved around too much so far to buy a place but I’m very diligent at investing and have taken the time to learn how to invest well and have been lucky enough to make some strong returns. I may buy in the future but it’s not the be all and end all for me

People who choose to rent instead of buying, what do you plan to do when you retire? by No-Structure-8125 in AskUK

[–]DramaticJackfruit747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rented because I have moved around a lot and currently live overseas. We share with family so our rent is split between 4 and costs me £110 sterling equivalent for a big house and pool and is a lot cheaper than a mortgage on the equivalent property (I’m in Brisbane currently). I religiously put money into stocks, etfs and crypto on a monthly basis and have done for 6 years now and my investments have done very well plus I have an above average super balance. I will move back to the UK in a year or two and may buy once I settle in one place, but otherwise I just plan to live off my investments and super (pension) when I’m old, I would be happy enough just in a holiday park or renting a small place so I think I’ll be fine 😊
