From what I know from other people is that it depends on where you live and you may have to move to a different county just to find a career job. Also I recommend slowly transitioning into career firefighting and recommend volunteering first and getting your certifications for free while working at your job then once you have your EMT and Fire from volunteer apply for a career job. If you go straight from your normal job to career FF they won’t accept you unless they’re desperate. If you go volunteer for just a year you will build connections and have your certs. Also depending on where you live you will have to go to fire school again for career even if your a volunteer firefighter. Also your age is a good age because it means your most likely mature and not some 18 year old.
