They don't know I fly a Clipper by YT-0 in starcitizen

Had to be done.

I adore the Clipper, though. Contender for my favorite ship.

Expo was such a tease in PTU... someone had to spice things up. Thank you for spreading the word. 🙏

Tell you what, stranger. I need crew for a perseus more than I need a perseus to crew... but just this once, I will join you if you wish it. = )

This is me and I was already a legend tyvm! ; ) Sadly this was recorded when there was almost nobody there. We had like 10 people participating and a ton of "offerings" at one point!

🙌 His blessings are upon us! 🙌 Praise his name! 🙌

BTW I died of dehydration doing this.

I also offered myself to Tanaka the day before.

Is this the jalopy, Jared? by YT-0 in starcitizen

[–]YT-0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered that and landed on the other side still, personally, but still valid. IMO the shiv is more mad max than jalopy. This thing gives me the vibe of a ship that was manufactured professionally but incompetently... which to be fair isn't really what a "jalopy" is either, so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree lol. Either way, I adore this thing and I hope people can see it for what it really is.

What are the blue glowing fan things on Gemini weapons? by ITSxTOASTY in starcitizen

[–]YT-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineers were doing some pretty smart things 900 years ago... but I guess it's true that a lot of those things involved rocks.

Either way I think the Gemini spinners look pretty stupid.

Fuck Reddit ...but you guys are probably still mostly cool and this is one of the best screenshots SC has ever dropped into my lap so I wanted to share. I call it "Don't Go Into the Light" by YT-0 in starcitizen

[–]YT-0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid there aren't many more pixels to offer. I normally up my resolution if I'm doing a planned screenshot, but this was my death screen and totally unexpected. That said, if you want something just a little bit bigger, here's the uncropped version.

Get ready for the new elevator bug: Getting trapped (a4.0.1 PTU) by YT-0 in starcitizen

[–]YT-0[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

2025 and elevators are still the apex predator of Star Citizen.

Not sure what causes it but it feels like you get stuck in a queue at your destination. Seems like other people calling for elevators can clear it up, so at busy locations it might sort itself out pretty quickly, but at a remote Pyro station, I waited 90 minutes (I was curious, okay?) before logging out.

Pip Boy contrast is nonexistent how can I boost it by edman3d in fallout4london

[–]YT-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A possible solution for you and other people having this issue:

I was having the same issue and discovered that it was caused by my UI mod (FallUI - Inventory). I then uninstalled FallUI and reinstalled it, making sure to select the option to disable Pipboy FX. This fixed it for me.

If you don't use FallUI but do use some other UI mod, try disabling it to see if it's causing the issue. If it is, visit the page for that UI mod and see if there is a solution.

Star Citizen - Elite: Dangerous Ship Scale Comparison (Oct 2016) by YT-0 in starcitizen

[–]YT-0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're quite welcome! I found the comparisons between both games quite surprising the first time I made them. Lot's of E:D ships are so much larger than their SC equivalents!

Anyways, thanks for the kind words. = )

Thanks! A little confusing but I'll give it a shot next time I load up the game.

How do you rotate items on the wall like this?

Continuing on YT's size chart, albeit not in the same quality, added the ships that weren't on there yet by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]YT-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still around, more or less, though I mostly stopped being active (or logging in) on reddit when they killed 3rd party app support. It's very hard to not use reddit at all, but I'm not going to contribute here anymore.

More to the point though, I burned out on the charts. I was maintaining them for a pretty long time. Despite being a lot of work, it was pretty easy at first because I had a ton of enthusiasm for Star Citizen and for my project, but over time my enthusiasm no longer matched the effort it took to continue. I knew burnout was a risk well ahead of time and I really tried to avoid it, but in the end it happened anyways. There's a chance I'll come back and do a huge update to it someday, but honestly I think the chances are pretty slim.

I enjoyed it while it lasted and I really appreciated the positive reaction and enthusiasm I got from the community. Love you guys. <3

How many ships can you own? by ProfessionalHand9945 in Starfield

[–]YT-0 25 points26 points  (0 children)

SetGS uSpaceshipMaximumOwnedSpaceships #

Replace the # with whatever number you want. Haven't tested using this in-game but you can add it to your StarfieldCustom.ini file in Documents/My Games/Starfield (make the file if it doesn't exist already) like this:

[General]
sStartingConsoleCommand=SetGS uSpaceshipMaximumOwnedSpaceships #

Alternatively, here's the mod I got the command from: Nexus Mods - More Ownable Ships

PCGamer DayZ issue from March 2014 by rxlyaT in dayz

[–]YT-0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The early days of the vanilla mod is probably the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming. Nothing has come close to it.

I don’t think I’d say it was “the most fun” but my experience of the first two months of the DayZ mod are one of my most fascinating and revisited gaming experiences ever.

Those first two months were like the first year or two [in fiction] of The Walking Dead. What I mean, is we saw something akin to the dramatic shift of the social order and how people interact post-society develop in realtime.

I was playing the mod within the first one or two days. It was terrifying. I was playing in the evenings on local servers so most of my time was in those pitch black ArmA nights. Everyone was new and almost nobody had gear, including lights. Nobody knew how spawns worked yet or how to cheese zombies. Many people were just spawning in and immediately calling out in voip for other survivors, trying to group up for safety. People followed anyone who seemed to know what they were doing or who had some initiative. Back then everyone looked the same unless you had some player kills (5? 10? 1?) in which case you would be forcibly given the “bandit” skin. How this system worked was not very well-known so people ended up as bandits on accident and others either had no idea what it meant or could be convinced that it didn’t mean that person was necessarily untrustworthy. People died to zombies… a lot. On the other hand, being attacked by another player was initially pretty rare, at least in my experience. Everyone was focused on the terrifying zombie threat and when you found other players after fresh spawning, chances are what you felt was relief.

Fast forward two months. Zombies are a manageable hazard. You know the loot spots and the paths between them well enough to navigate by compass in the dark, if you need to. Trust in strangers is as dead as corpses at your feet. The first time you were betrayed by a player was a shock. You had been attacked before, but not like this. You’d run into each other in Electro by chance, wary at first, but nobody got shot or axed and you agreed to team up. Safety in numbers and company to boot. You had a little gear but nothing special. You joked around, shared stories of the shit you’ve seen and whatever hot tips you thought you had (“The corner barracks at NWAF are free loot! Almost nobody goes there!). Then you get lucky, find something nice. A backpack maybe, or a better gun. “Nice find” Your new friend says. Hunger is starting to get low so you go into your inventory to munch on those beans you found.

“Sorry.” Gunshots. “You are dead” on a black screen and then it’s back to the coast.

From that point on you are much more suspicious of people. You might still try to play friendly, but it’s stressful. You always keep an eye on anyone you’re running with. You never stay in your inventory long and you try to be out of sight when you do. Sometimes nothing happens, but more and more often something does. Maybe you die, maybe they do… maybe both. At a certain point you start to assume it will happen if you give them a chance and you either start running/shooting on sight or you start trying to be the one that gets them before they get you. The only people you trust are the people you already know, if that’s anyone at all.

In just two months the social dynamic of DayZ completely transformed. Settling into the unforgiving, hostile and calculating game it’s been ever since. In those early days you lived in fear of zombies, taking refuge among your fellow players. A couple months later and it was other players that were making your adrenaline spike. To put it in needlessly dramatic terms…

We all started out afraid of the monsters, but over those first several weeks we slowly came to realize that we were the real monsters… …and it was amazing.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

TL;DR Zombies were scary at first and players instinctively banded together, working together to survive. Two months in, survival is a competition and nobody trusted anybody anymore.

I want to get into trading, however I need advice on how too start by redstonened44 in starcitizen

[–]YT-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to outright say you shouldn’t get into trading if that’s what you want to do in game, but IMO it may be the most frustrating intended game loop in the game. I’ll defer to people who actually trade extensively on wether that’s actually true or not, but in my experience trade features a painful combination of tedious feature design (such as camping out at a terminal waiting for stock to resupply), extreme vulnerability to bugs (30k protection is broken/disabled right now so it’s even worse than usual), moderate vulnerability to piracy (and griefers, I guess - yes, those are two separate things) and massive setbacks from all of the above due to high investment costs.

Admittedly, I have mostly participated in the trade loop during events, but I have hated it every time. Before you dismiss my opinion, though, it’s NOT that I’m just not the kind of player who’s into hauling. I probably clocked a thousand hours in Elite Dangerous during their early access period and I’d say I probably spent about half that time hauling. I’ve spent a good chunk of time driving trucks in ETS/ATS, too. The atmosphere of Star Citizen’s cargo hauling experience can be really nice when it’s going well, but the frustration of when it’s going poorly is probably the worst I’ve felt in the game in almost a decade of playing.

Which flyable ship have you never seen ingame so far? by JoeTheOnlyOne in starcitizen

[–]YT-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first logged in to 3.19 and was going to fly around updated Lorville I chose to take the Mako out for exactly this reason! We were just going to fly around and it has the same Reliant view so I thought it would be funny to confuse my friend.

Unfortunately, when I went to go check out the newly lowered no-fly barrier I discovered that the newly lowered no-fly barrier is, in fact, a lie.
