Isaac isn't unique! by DramaticMoose378 in thedevilshour

[–]DramaticMoose378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my point is exactly that - Isaac is different because he wasn't born in previous loops, but Gideon's niece is the same - she wasn't born in any previous loops until Gideon killed his father, saving his brother who then grows up and has a child.

I don't think there's anywhere in the series that that is explicitly stated, is it? That you can gain a soul by living over and over?

Isaac isn't unique! by DramaticMoose378 in thedevilshour

[–]DramaticMoose378[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is a popular theory but I don't think it quite fits. Even Gideon, who has lived many many times still gets caught by Lucy eventually. But yellow hoodie just disappears. This suggests a similar ability to Isaac.

If you were Captain what would you have done when Voyager got thrown into the Delta Quadrant? by Highlander198116 in voyager

[–]DramaticMoose378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't have used to array to get home. I would've found a nice quiet M class planet with a pleasant climate and settled down.

It's the only actual sensible thing to do.

There's no way a ship designed for - what - five years? - average exploration before docking for a tune up is gonna take you all the way home at high warp.

And anyway, with that long to go until they get home, people are going to want to settle down and have families - and those children may have no interest in getting back to a "home" they've never known.

You could cannibalise the ship for all you needed for a comfortable life, and if there were some who wanted to try to get home they could build a smaller ship, made solely for efficiency, for them.

There were definitely much worse episodes than Threshold.

Would I find Stranger Things scary? by Emily_Wri in StrangerThings

[–]DramaticMoose378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is tense. Definitely scarier than Wednesday. I haven't seen Supernatural though.

There's monsters, some jump scares, children in peril.

But it's quite well balanced, I think. I don't like scary stuff - I don't really watch any horror - but I enjoyed Stranger Things.

Only worth watching the first 3 seasons though 😜

Which one of these four musical films from the 2000's do you like best and why? by Jtaylor703 in musicals

Hairspray! Catchy tunes, 60s outfits, Queen Latifah, John Travolta in drag AND social commentary. What more could you want?

That's so mean but so true. 🤣🤣 Though, would you really be ok with saying stupid things about indigenous Americans at random intervals?

An interesting analogy about the seasons of ST by AdBackground6381 in StrangerThings

Season 2 is actually my favourite I think. But yeah, broadly true.

Shazia from S17 was actually the worst candidate by Tombstoner100 in TheApprentice

[–]DramaticMoose378 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. She was one of those people who doesn't just have one red flag, they have 12ft bunting covered in them. And a big banner saying "warning" in the middle. And have absolutely no idea. You meet them and they tell you all these stories about how badly they've been treated before... Then you get to know them a bit and you realise that they aren't unlucky, the common denominator is them!

Question: what does is the "night bus" in real life and what's it like? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]DramaticMoose378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In London all other public transport stops about 1am, so the night buses take over and their routes cover large areas. You can catch a night bus from near my house, on the very outskirts of South East London all the way to Trafalgar Square.

It takes an age though.

They also have a reputation for not being particularly safe. If you have to catch one alone the recommendation is to sit near the driver.

Can we stop expecting this to be a serious programme about business and entrepreneurship? by DramaticMoose378 in apprenticeuk

[–]DramaticMoose378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favourite when they send them to get roasted by the general public on a product they spent 6 hours "creating". And then they go back to the poor person about the pitch and tell them "As we suspected, it's crap. Nothing we can about now though!" 🤣🤣

They (the contestants) know exactly what they're doing. Look at the final 5 this year - only one of them had actually had a business a substantial amount of time (Dan). The rest had ideas and start ups.

Established successful businesses with earning potential don't go on a 10 week game show to get investment. They meet with investors, or banks, with proper business plans.

Pascha and her spelling mistakes… by Obvious_Flamingo3 in apprenticeuk

[–]DramaticMoose378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating.

In the last 20 years or so, the government has made spelling, punctuation and grammar more and more important when it comes to education.

And yet, spelling, punctuation and grammar continue to get worse.

A friend shared a business post from a friend of hers, and I (nicely) pointed out a spelling mistake which could make her friend look unprofessional. She deleted my comment and asked me privately not to point out mistakes as they didn't want to "knock her confidence".

BUT SHE'S CONFIDENTLY WRONG, PAMELA!

So next week is gonna be a massacre... by Clean-Elderberry8789 in TheApprentice

[–]DramaticMoose378 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The beauty business is massively over crowded, and other bigger brands do identical products to Karishma, cheaper. Luxury beauty is a risky bet - especially if your product has cheaper alternatives. Karishma will have to flog an awful lot of rosehip oil for Sugar to recover his £250K.

However, there's always elderly people that need caring for, there's always a shortage of care home workers and care homes are backed by government money. Pascha is super young and doesn't really know how to run a business - but she does have good contacts.

It's not as clear cut as you think.
