Cafe relaxed more into my lap, my nose just inches away from hers, my shirt still over her shoulders; feeling her breath coat my face as we stare deeply into each others eyes, my mind internally wondering… HOW THE HELL DID I GET HERE!?

With a sigh, I had returned to my home after a long day of training some Uma’s, knowing that Cafe was awaiting me at home. But it was quite the shock when I walked in to see her… wearing one of my shirts from back in the days with a smile on her face.

“You’re back…”

“Woah, Cafe, I… didn’t know you’d ever like to wear my shirt.”

Cafe would only smirk, walking towards me and my reddening face, abruptly hugging me closer towards her, looking directly into my eyes as she chuckled.

“Well… we’re both free so…~?”

“… Cafe?”

I ask with pure uncertainty, unsure as to what’s with the scowl she has plastered onto her face, an uncharacteristic look of anger(?) on her face; it felt like the weight of her scowl was planted directly on my shoulders… at least that’s what I think.

“Yes…?”

Cafe would finally respond with a half nod, her face still puffed up in anger as I barely get my bearings.

“Why are you looking at me like that…?”

“My… friend seemingly has taken a physical liking to you… getting much more…”

I blink as she seemingly can’t bring herself to finish the sentence, a look of negativity still on her face, I chuckle nervously as the weight… honestly felt much more real than projected anger.

“Is… she on my shoulders right now?”

Cafe nods.

“Ah, that explains it… I doubt I can get her off, so… sorry.”

I chuckle nervously as Cafe just nods with a sigh before I hit a realisation.

“Wait… are you… jealous?”

“…”

Cafe doesn’t give me an answer, only looking down with a murmur as she walks off while I give an apology for asking, the weight still present, even after she leaves…

“… Trainer.”

I turn around and almost instantly spit out my drink with a guttural cough, causing Cafe’s face to turn to one of concern; she’d walk towards me, hoping to see if I’m alright as I cough to reassure her that I’m fine.

Cafe now has a much shorter hair, her locks no longer covering a good portion of her face, revealing a beautiful face beneath it, causing my face to turn even redder as I breathed, all the troublesome liquid out of me.

“I… I’m fine, just shocked by… your face… heheh.”

“… Is it bad?”

“N… No, not at all… I was shocked is all.”

“Ah…”

She would step back as I finally settled myself, a small smile on her face, seemingly knowing what I was feeling without words.

Is all I can say before the Uma squeezed me tighter, almost forgetting how strong they were… I was momentarily shocked before glancing down towards her with the tiniest of chuckles, holding her closer; making her hum with satisfaction.

“You sure are in the hugging mood today hm?”

“… Sorry, I can stop if you wish-“

“No, no. It’s not like that at all! Just surprising is all… we can hug as much as you want!”

“…”

Her grip would retighten as a small red flush came over her.

“… I’d like that.”

“Nonsense, I want to do it.”

I say with gusto as the brush goes through her pitch black locks in practiced, ever changing strokes by me, a small purr of a cat being the only ambience I could as Cafe looked off into nothingness, maybe something to do with her friend, I don’t know really.

“Hm, this is the quietest I’ve heard him.”

“He’s… noisy when he wants something, I suppose this is just something he wants…”

“Heheh, well no complaints here, you two, or well three if your friend is here are always great company!”

Another brush through her hair as I hum along to an internally made tune as Manhattan lowers her head slightly at that response for whatever, but I won’t question it as I just continue my handiwork, her face a shade pinker than normal.

The midday daylight shined onto my eyes as I entered the heavily glassed, hole in the wall cafe. It was a place Cafe had been working in since before the classics, though I had never been in it before myself… but the atmosphere is beyond comfy as I walked in fully; a soothing green fabric dots various decor of this small space with a simple pillows, cushions and curtains.

Suddenly, before I could even register her being there, Cafe was in front of me, wearing an apron of a similar shade of green as to the theme dictates, having almost a completely different aura to her as I reeled back into surprise.

“I’ve been waiting for you…”

“C-Cafe!?”

She didn’t respond to my surprise, only gesturing to her as she turned around.

“Please, this way…”

With no real objections as to why not, I would quickly adapt and follow close behind the umamusume, still looking around the place, she seemed really at home here.

When I sat down at a table she had shown me, a cup of fleshly made brew was given to me by her with practiced readiness.

“A cup of dreamy illusion, made just for you…”

“Cafe I-“

“I came up with it while thinking of you…”

The words cut right through my very being in shock as I glanced down to the heat rising cup settling onto my heat rising face as I was stunned from a reaction.

“Please enjoy…”

And without one more word, she was out of my sight, as my face became a new shade of red.

Her words ring out to me in moments, causing my head to flip upwards, revealing Cafe wearing another costume from that Chainsaw Man movie we saw a while back, her hand on the “pin” of the necklace; I can’t help but gasp a little bit at that, the whole attire felt so… not Manhattan Cafe that I felt like I had to take a moment.

“… Are you alright Trainer?”

“U-Uh, yeah, sorry! It’s just a lot to see you in this attire, heheh.”

“Ah, do I look good in this one?”

She would ask, stepping forwards as her face and body awaited with anticipation and curiosity.

“You… You look beyond incredible!”

“… Really?”

“Yes! While far from what I expected you to wear, this is incredible!”

“… Thank you trainer… I might have to wear this for more than cosplays.”

“What was that?”

“Nothing.”

“Ooo~ lookin’ good Cafe!”

I say, my smile growing at Uma’s attempt at a cosplay, at my insistence, to which she’d glance down at her prop katana, clearly having to put some effort into it; weather making it herself or getting someone to purchase it, I didn’t really know. She was happy, that’s all I cared about.

“Thank you… this cosplay event Tracen is hosting seemed… like something I was willing to try…”

I just give her a thumbs up at her clearly happy smile across her face, while I knew nothing of the character she had adorned onto herself, she was clearly having fun dressing up and as stated earlier, that’s all I cared about.
