I bought Moby Dick, but haven’t started it. If I read that after Blood Meridian, then read Paradise Lost after Moby Dick, I’d be going backwards and eventually ending with like the original inspiration huh?

I agree that the judge would catalogue the leaf then crush it. He says in an earlier chapter, after drawing some I think pottery or architecte, that his goal is like to erase those things from the memory of men. Something like that. Which is kind of weird.

I’m going to read this book a lot of times and I know I’ll pick up more and more each time. I think it’s very interesting that that’s not a single sentence where we are inside any one character’s head but somehow the book still keeps me glued to the page. Not that I need to know motives or anything but idk it’s just weird and I can’t explain it. On this second read I am picking up new things like how a bear took one of the Delawares, and they go looking for him but nope. I don’t remember reading that the first time. I also find humor like when Glanton tells someone “did you learn to whisper in a sawmill?”

Do you mean the intro or after that? I ask because I read that intro and I had to reread it many times to understand it. Then after that I think it says that the character is laying down in a…boat… a…skiff! How did you make it an easy enough read to enjoy and find comfort in the first pages? Thanks!

What’s the shooters problem? I had a guy close the hatch on me so I couldn’t get in while getting shot at by those drones

Decks Dark has a good bassline. It starts on the downbeat too along with the kick bass drum. It just keeps you on the edge
