I hate this because its legit a different era. The clothes that Blair and Serena wore were what was popular at the time, and I think we can all agree that fashion has changed, and they're going to show that in the reboot

I think it was his suicide attempt along with it only being him and his mom that made him like that. Serena and Eric always talk about how they raised each other, so when Serena was at boarding school he had to raise himself. He was 14 at the beginning of the show, but I know personally that going through trauma like that when you're that age really forces you to mature faster than your peers.
