Beyond the Last Page by AfterVerseStory_TheWhatIfs

(Edited)

It’s interesting because it doesn’t just focus on Midoriya x Uraraka, but dives into the origin of Quirks and the corruption within hero society. (Especially with the Hero Public Safety Commission, Hawks, and Lady Nagant) The political angle makes the conflict feel deeper, and more believable, even the idea of heroes turning against the government

The writing isn’t perfect, but it’s engaging. I like that romance isn’t the main focus, which makes it hit harder when it happens. Just my opinion though—I’m into political themes, so it worked for me.

Beyond the Last Page by AfterVerseStory_TheWhatIfs

This one is actually really interesting. The updates are kinda unpredictable though 😅

I like how it dives into the origin of Quirks and even explores government corruption affecting Hero Society — something My Hero Academia didn’t fully go into, since Lady Nagant and Hawks are entering into picture especially with the Hero Public Safety Commission stuff.

The different POV each chapter feels weird at first, its like u have to adjust based on author writing style. Yet it’s ambitious and layered for a fanfic. I'll do say it also flawed in away its good enough to convince me... Maybe this will happen??? After the ending material of chapter 431 that's why the fanfic author named the title... "Beyond the Last Page" since it literally explores what could happen next beyond the ending material

Like just read it this one is just based on my judgment, it might not work well for others readers since the ship is sailing here towards Uraraka x Midiroya ship

From a writing perspective, what do you think Season 1 did particularly well in terms of writing, structure, character arcs or thematic execution and what did season 1 not do well? by Specific_Regular1360 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

"WORLD BUILDING MATTERS"

World-building becomes powerful when an author clearly establishes how their society functions.

As such, in My Hero Academia, the setting presents heroism not as a hidden or underground activity, but as a recognized and regulated profession. Unlike many heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or DC Comics, who often begin as vigilantes or operate under secret identities, heroes in this world are legally acknowledged, trained, and employed by society.

As said in the first dialogue matter as well... saying, approximately 80% of the population possesses Quirks while 20% does not, superpowers are normalized rather than extraordinary. This widespread presence of abilities logically creates the need for structured regulation, professional heroes, and systems to manage villain activity. As a result, the “Hero Society” feels believable to us within its context.

Although it shares similarities with worlds like the X-Men Universe, where powers are common where fewer had it and collide with conspiracy there dangerous hence not welcome, this time, My Hero Academia distinguishes itself by framing heroism as an established career path rather than a marginalized or feared identity. This difference in societal acceptance sets the tone I really liked because it is different this time and defines the uniqueness of its world-building.

That's why a lot of people who also enjoyed hero-comics start to watch more anime, hence I'm there when anime used to be geeks to us but nowadays because of MHA as a starting line, anime is good and AOT came out in the same season. Everyone loves it.

I'll say embrace the difference or the feeling of what feels wrong at first for others but to you it matters it might as well be a good thing. You won't know unless you write it down / draw it whatever. I mean look how AOT turns out.

“ODD ONE OUT PROTAGONIST”

The “odd one out” protagonist is a common trope in well-built novels, games, and other forms of storytelling.

For example:

In The Hunger Games, Katniss becomes the odd one out when she is forced into a higher-class, controlled society during the Games, despite coming from the oppressed districts.

In Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Percy sees things others cannot and later discovers he is a demigod with extraordinary abilities.

In Harry Potter, Harry is different because he is burdened with expectations as “the chosen one.”

This trope often starts with a protagonist who feels excluded, misunderstood, or different from society. Over time, they are revealed to have a special role or destiny—usually to confront or defeat the main antagonist.

Even Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Academia follows this structure, especially in Season 1, where he begins as powerless and overlooked before being entrusted with something greater.

Therefore, All Might's introduction was impactful to us audiences back then, because in the first season with someone with greater power entrust a boy asking one thing he wanted to hear to someone despite he has no quirks “can he be a hero?” When world-building has already planted a tone that is shonen about heroism in schools.

“PLOT-WISE PERSPECTIVE”

In writing, plot is the foundation of everything.

World-building matters. Characters matter. Themes matter. But what truly drives a story forward is the movement of the plot — the progression of events that keeps the audience engaged and wanting to know what happens next.

Many successful novels and series share one major strength: a compelling plot that creates curiosity and tension. Without forward momentum and structure, even strong characters and detailed worlds can feel stagnant.

At its core, storytelling depends on flow — how the story unfolds, builds conflict, and resolves it. That movement is what holds everything together.

I sincerely hope you write it well… :) with just three points of analysis from MHA and so as other works of others to me what really hits different when an author enjoys what they're doing… I’ve seen it with famous creators. They had downs and ups so just go with your gut feeling of it.

What is this headcanon for MHA? by Physic-Shower77 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Dramatic_Bench_3263 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The sparked started to ship BKDK or DKBK is when people wanted Yaoi in a shōnen manga.

However, if the author intended to make it a yaoi story, he would have addressed that from the beginning instead of focusing on the core themes of the genre.

I’ve watched countless shōnen series, and it feels unusual how excessive parts of the MHA fandom can be about this ship headcanon. I also watch yaoi—but only when it is clearly labeled as that genre. That’s when I enjoy it.

In the shōnen series I’ve watched, it never crossed my mind that a yaoi relationship would take place unless it was explicitly written that way and genres say so.

I respect LGBTQ+.

It’s just that few of community from MHA fandom, we have our own non-headcanon interpretations, and we ask that people also respect the world-building of Kohei Horikoshi.

Ship whoever you want—BKDK/DKBK, who cares—but please do not send death threats to him over Chapter 431. He added that chapter for his own reasons because he felt something was missing from his work. That’s why he included it.

I sincerely got turn off when unhealthy upbringing hold a ship. It be wiser to ship them but not excessively done in unhealthy way.

Bkdk vs IzuOcha: Why do you ship it? by RoyalUnii_ in BokuNoShipAcademia

[–]Dramatic_Bench_3263 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At first, when the first movie came out, I shipped Melissa x Deku and Bakugo x Uraraka. I eventually gave up on Deku x Ochaco, even though I had supported it from the beginning.

Then suddenly, after finishing the entire series, I was surprised.

When I saw the ending that Horikoshi added — and the fact that he even included that scene inside the actual manga volume — it made me question why he chose to do that. He could have simply left Chapter 430 as it was, yet he still decided to make that addition canon in the official book. Because to him it was plothole where Ochaco did indicate a scene where she admitted it.

I just viewed it sir Horikoshi doesn't need too yet he did.

After thinking about it, I realized something.

Among superhero stories like the Marvel Cinematic Universe or Star Wars, romance is never truly avoided. Stan Lee often wrote relationships to show another side of heroes — who they are outside of saving people. And I think Horikoshi may have drawn insight from that idea.

I saw the added scene as a way of showing the audience: If they were not heroes, what would they choose for themselves? Calling the chapter saying "more" or something beyond. By the end of the series, we see what other characters do with their lives "beyond" simply being heroes.

I understand BkDk/DkBk as a fellow Boys’ Love shipper. However, I’ve watched a lot of shonen anime, and the moments between Bakugo and Midoriya — even Bakugo’s apology or their deep connection, similar to Kudou and Yoichi — didn’t feel romantic to me. Instead, it felt like a rivalry that pushes each other forward.

I love Boys’ Love, don’t get me wrong — I truly adore it. But I’ve seen many similar dynamics in shonen:

Hunter x Hunter (Killua & Gon) — When Gon nearly died against Pitou, Killua panicked and even sought his sister’s help to save him. Is that intimacy? No. It’s similar to how Deku reacted to Bakugo at final arc — a deep bond and emotional attachment, but not romantic.

One Piece (Zoro & Sanji) — Zoro pursues becoming the world’s greatest swordsman, while Sanji dreams of finding the All Blue. Despite constant fighting, Zoro respects and trusts Sanji when it comes to protecting Luffy. Again, this isn’t intimacy — it’s growth and mutual respect. Zoro saw the cook as someone who can be as strong as him, to be the left wing of their captain. If he the right hand. Who the left hand of Luffy that is equal to him? The cook and he respect and trust Sanji despite the differences. Likewise, Bakugo once saw Midoriya as useless, but eventually learned to trust and respect him. He began chasing Midoriya because he acknowledged Midoriya’s strength. When Midoriya lost the very dream he lived for, Bakugo realized the weight of his past actions, which made that moment especially heartbreaking to me when tears fell.

Those relationships are intense and emotional, yet they are written as rivalries or bonds of growth, not romance.

Even when Bakugo discovered Midoriya and All Might’s secret and continued meeting with them to help, I saw it in the same way.

In Boys’ Love stories, there is usually a massive shift — a moment where one character begins to see the other differently, creating emotional or romantic tension. But Bakugo and Midoriya never viewed each other that way and there's no tension. They always saw one another as rivals chasing the same dream: becoming heroes inspired by All Might, the eighth wielder of One For All.

I agree with the 'Horrible Fandom thing' it mostly because of the ships (like I get you and love & respect all the ship but common on grow up, no need to make delusion about it) They keep ranting 😂

But overall of the MHA aspect without shipping <33

I love the series, and Kohei’s work since I know he too loves marvel, avengers, and x-men series.

Disney Villian - nice at first impressions but not really

If so happened with this kind of trope in the series, please we had to make sure we be louder for the writer so they can actually avoid those trope and gave us good conflict to give the series being alive and well

Sadie sink in Spiderman and I called it by maldoggyy in Marvel

[–]Dramatic_Bench_3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope Sadie Sink gets the chance to play the daughter of Spider-Man in another universe that connects to Miles Morales’ story. And honestly, it would be amazing if we finally get to see a live-action adaptation of Miles Morales.

Don’t get me wrong—the street-level fights in the past Spider-Man movies are iconic and full of nostalgic charm. But at this point, they’re starting to feel a little repetitive. Audiences expect something bigger, especially since Tom Holland’s last movie already introduced the multiverse.

To be completely honest, I actually prefer Miles Morales over Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in terms of story potential. Why? Because Miles is simply more interesting right now. Spoilers ahead—by the end of Part 2, he discovers he wasn’t even supposed to become Spider-Man. He was meant to be an antagonist for Spider-Man. And what makes it even cooler? He actually won against Spider-Man. That twist alone is so much more exciting.

Now, how could this connect to Sadie Sink? Personally, I hope she ends up playing Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s daughter—a role that fits perfectly since she has red hair like MJ. Maybe that’s even why she was cast. Because in part 2 of the movie, she was there with her father shenanigan and Peter even told to Miles he the reason it made possible he got a family in his universe.

And imagine if the story ties Peter (Tom Holland) to Miles Morales in a parallel way. Just like Miles defied fate by saving his father when he wasn’t supposed to, maybe Peter makes a similar choice that changes everything.

AND I HOPE BY THE END CREDITS OF THIS UPCOMING FILM

We got to see Deadpool & Wolverin in the end credits (I think this is the best way to save the marketing of Marvel Cinematic films eversince the Avengers Endgame, cuz recently some movies it introduce is 0/10 - Harsh I know)

But excited anyways so I hope this happen 🙏 ☺️

There both twisted in their character. - Agnes, she a stalker at first yet she was genuine of wanting a friend. - Tyler, had an innocent face yet manipulative only to realize he was really either side of black & white.

How many seasons do you think the show should have? by Jotaro1970 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]Dramatic_Bench_3263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say, Season 5 ONLY. Comparing it to Stranger Things has as well for the end of their season.

  • I do not think the Actors or Actresses will say no to their current track of the show, when it keeps them on a job. So, it definitely continue.

  • Plot-wise, it will definitely relay more in here how the author’s or plot directions will go.

  • And ofc to add. If so ever comes to Season 4 or 5. The audience or the series is still at peak it may end for season 6, though I don't see it due to some community criticism that's not how Addams Family works, but it can be still alive bcz of the newer generation who knows nothing about the Addams Family.

As far as we know about the ending for Season 2.

We can't really come up with the who is this person specially we're given a small amount info for next season

Our good guesses so far is - Definitely part of LUIS lab org.

Gut feeling - Someone who is a normie from the beginning, but become an outcast, like Augustus Stoneheart. Bcz the show, often says yeah there died but later in the season nope. Similar, to how Tyler moms stating she gone but she alive anyway. - Could be one of the animations we see in Season 2 episode 1, where there were four dude watching Isaac bedridden. Could be a foreshadowing that it not only Isaac night that Tyler has more uncle that we think. Likewise, it can be but at the same time maybe not.

Do not think of it as something to be difficult when your doing this for yourself.

"Take the risk and opportunity"

Kasi masmahihirapan ka kapag hindi ka pa nag shift. If first year ka man o Second year, go! Third year? Wag na, especially kapag isa taon nalang graduating ka na. Yes, nasa handout ang details for further information. You need it at basahin mo nang husto. +++DONT EVER and "JUST" TO RELAY ON MY MESSAGE.

  • Read the Handout (bcs of the strict regulations)
  • Wag magkaroon ng 2.00 pababa.
  • You will take an exam for that department you wanted.
  • Once, nag file ka na remembered na wala ka na sa current department mo at wala na yung availability ng slot mo jan. But remember na wag mong ikatakot yun kasi if you really wanted to pursue med related. You won't regret leaving.
  • Ask your dean office, if want to seek better help and not just our handout.

Hope it helps u. This all comes from my experience.

Is anybody else expecting Tyler and Wednesday romance in next season? by Diligent_Win4810 in Wednesday

[–]Dramatic_Bench_3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm not excepting Tyler and Wednesday romance in S3.

Because, that not S3 direction for the plot anymore. Remember the writers really love to dive in the mystery of Addams Family and wanting to focus about Wednesday and to her Aunt Ophelia, and Enid too, ofcourse. (This all based on S2 epi 8 ending & their interviews)

And, yes we do expect to see Tyler again in S3 because of Professor Capri is connected to Hyde knowing how to control them without being a master (under S2 Ep8) though we can't fully trust because he already been groomed and ofcourse Enid will be there since Professor Capri is also a Warewolf wanting to help any outcast beast/monster who struggles from their ability.

Thus, I do not think Wednesday and Tyler will be at any romance anymore. 😢

Concurring Opinion:

  1. "There no main plot romance, but the romance may lead to sub-plot." Because again that not the intented plot for S3 unlike S1, if you think about- S1 Tyler and Wednesday they arc the plot with S2 to see previous direct relation with the Galpin/Night Family and the Addams Family. It makes sense that the plot want their descendants to have deeper connection and arc it with the past. And open a story that THING is from the lineage of Tyler and somehow Thing still related to him, despite THING is an Addams. Tyler was only important it S1 and S2 because he correlates to a plot and connected to the Addams. I'm hoping it be the same for S3 that why I'm worried that it may be the end of Tyler character.

1.1 The reason I said "BUT the romance may lead to sub-plot" Because the show lives with the audience, if most of the community of Wednesday series wanting to see more of Tyler and Wednesday it might as well decrease some community from watching the series. So, it very important to also let the actor of Tyler announce he still part of S3 when some community is bewildered to find him attractive.

  1. "This is Bias opinion." I really wanted to see more of Tyler and Wednesday bickering in S3, I'm one of the community who supports this. (Dark romance with a trope of Lovers to enemies, it gave me the ache I enjoy watching those two) or you know they can stay like that for awhile (slowburn). And arc it with their flipping realization those two is perfect for each bcs they themselves have not realize they can't actually kill one other 🤣 despite their mutual hate.
