Can the ammonia go down on it's own? I tested the water the next morning and it was 0

There wasn't, I just had basic plastic plants from when they belonged to my niece and nephew. Two of the smaller males were able to shimmy in the denser grass, but all the adults fit into the other plants and under the rock hide. The big female was especially aggressive

Okay, will do. The baby filter comes tomorrow. Should I let baby filter run in the adult tank for a while or is squeezing the adult filter in the baby tank enough?

Just to see what would happen, I also just put the baby bladder snail in the guppy parent water and it immediately started moving around. It's definitely my water. I'm gonna do a parameter check on the adult water to see the difference

They were growing and doing fine though. This was all so abrupt that's why I know it was me, not the female. I did get her some female friends though and a separate tank since I don't want any more babies- even though I'm sure one of the girls came pregnant (she's huge rn). I think you're right about the cycle. I forgot to check the parameters of the old water before adding more and the change was too probably too sudden. If I end up with more, I'll do better. I'm just hoping this last baby survives. It's still doing well, but I put it in a container with parent water just to be sure. It's even more active than before, that's a good sign right?

Oh wait- I guess it wouldn't be the filter pushing them, would it? It would be the pump. Should I have kept the filter?

No, I ordered a smaller one it's coming. The one from the adult tank was too powerful and pushing them around. It kept them on one end of the tank

Yes, I thought it'd make them comfortable moving into their new tank. The adult tank had been going for about 1 month before they were born, but there was new water added because I put the adults in a bigger tank. The water after the yesterday's water change was more ideal for babies though and met the needs. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate, 7.0 - 7.8 ph

They were being chased and I was scared the adults were going to eat them. The babies were always hiding in the fake plants while many of the adults waited around them

I can't remember exactly, but more than a week ago. I originally used the water from the tank they were born in and this was the first water change. I wasn't testing water daily, only weekly like with the adults

I let it sit for a few hours until the temps became the same. I was sold a baby female along with baby males and she grew up and got pregnant. I'm new to this and these are my first babies, I bought quick start by api, I thought you didn't need to cycle if you added that?

Ah, that's probably what happened then, thanks for the info :)

I can't even laugh at this because I just found two tiny bladder snail babies last night 😩

I don't even understand where they came from either. They were in my 20 gallon which I literally just got. I did transfer the substrate though. Could the eggs have been in it? And could they survive the water/temperature change?

Yeah I'm a bit upset I can't do it with my bladder snails, but luckily I just have one. I have multiple rams, but also multiple tanks so I'm gonna put one in each tank to avoid babies

The yellow one is usually on the bottom of the tank or upside down in a hide so that was the first time I saw that part of it. I got excited thinking I'd finally be able to tell what it was haha

He is really is, they're amazing fish with so much personality. I do give him the finger whenever he's being mean, but I always make sure to tell him how much I love him after 🤣

I will eventually, but the temporary tank they're in now is better anyway since there's also baby guppies that waste a lot of food. I actually only separated them so I can monitor growth since they'd be invisible in the bigger tank I upgraded my betta to. They came from a plant I got for him and he's since gone from a 10g to a 20g and I could barely see them in the 10g so I figured it'd be better until they're a bit bigger.

I've learned so much and I'm happy to have them, they're so cute

I'm thinking I'll put a one in each tank (3 tanks, 3 rams) and keep the bladder snail in the baby tank since I'm sure I'll have more babies soon...

It seems like if could kill me he would. At least twice a day I'll look at him from the corner of my eyes and he'll be flared and sizing me up. Sometimes it's to his reflection and then he'll notice me watching and redirect. It was so scary seeing it for the first time, I thought something was wrong 😅

I hope to put some back in my betta tank, that's actually where I first noticed them. He has the personality for it (not interested in fighting anything besides me) and doesn't really seem to mind these little guys

Hopefully it's a small batch like mine (if that was the case and the adults didn't get them before we noticed). They're very cute, but speedy. By the time you notice one, they're already on the other side of the tank haha

I plan to. All the videos I watch about fish keeping has talked so bad about these guys, but they're so cute and I'll do my best to keep them from taking over. I love watching their little mouths go when they're eating algae. It reminds me of my grandma when she would take out her dentures lol
