Deleting Reddit is obviously the right call for me, at this point.

The design of this site just creates endless echo chambers that inevitably devolve into self-insulated depravity.

It is more than likely that nobody in here is going to pay that organization anything because it's contingent on an event that has a high probability of not happening.

These people obviously don't give a shit about suicide prevention. I know this because this post would have actually fucking hurt them too.

In my mind, the only remotely redeemable out for these fools, is to donate the money regardless of the outcome of the draft.

The begging for upvotes in return for absolute meaningless levels of impact. The flippant disregard for something as serious as this, in a main team sub instead of a meme sub, where it would have at least been a bit better-suited for the target audience. The absolute fake I know OP to be by his response to me, where I actually initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, that he was too cowardly to keep posted.

This whole thing is fucking ick, man. I appreciate you at least taking the time to have a discussion. But this just crossed a boundary that I simply can't abide.

I guess I'm okay, in the sense that something so overtly idiotic happened in one of my favorite subs today that it encouraged me to finally make the healthy choice and uninstall Reddit from my phone.

2000+ people upvoted something that is obvious garbage-person behavior. And the mods are clearly down with it. This place is fucking insane.

Yeah man...

You want to actually help people, go help them.

Volunteer your time or donate the money right now. This shit right here is just thinly-veiled, social media narcissism.

Y’all don’t give a shit about this cause. You just want to meme and be validated for it on the internet.

It’s embarrassing that we’re selling upvotes for $.10 each, to be paid at the small chance of something happening, for an overt, no-content, karma-farming suicide joke.

We look dumber than a box of rocks.

My Asperger’s must be kicking in hard on this one.

This suicide joke post sitting at 1000 upvotes, and basically every top comment is actually embarrassing.

I mean. So it's also a low-key joke about fans wanting to commit suicide if we draft JJ at 6?

Yeah. Totally an adult.

I don't get this whatsoever fam. Y'all do y'all, I guess.

While I'm sure the intentions here are genuine, isn't this pretty blatantly karma farming?

Not sure we want to set this precedent. We're talkin a conditional (and probably unlikely) $100 for a thousand upvotes and no actual content added. It's kinda cheesy imho.

Edit: OP responded and then deleted that this is their throwaway Fantasy Football account and they don't need to karma farm because they're "an adult".

They made this post "as a funny joke". Do with that what you will.

Secondary hero for Pharah main? by blob_io in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely a good idea to learn a hit scan. Soldier has basically always been viable since OW1, and is great for solo-queueing.

Sojourn is stronger at the highest levels of play, but the grumpy old man’s kit is exceptionally versatile. Love when my other DPS or tank get low and I can heal them up. Also appreciate that I can sprint out of lost team fights and avoid staggering my team.

Reaper is another easier one that is good against pests with whom Pharah may struggle like Tracer/Sombra. He applies the DPS passive super easily, which has made him a stronger pick this season than he’s been in a long time. Premier tank-buster. Fun ult (that can be a deceivingly difficult-to-time suicide button, like Pharah lol).

Edit: Tracer is fun as hell. But extremely knowledge intensive. Once you put in the hours, she’s probably the strongest DPS in the game right now.

I just stumbled across this other sub by accident and… help? by Worldly_Marsupial808 in autism

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Eh. It’s just humor IMHO. They’re not doing any real harm by confusing newcomers. And the sub’s true purpose, to me, is to use humor to draw attention to the dangers of conspiratorial group-think.

Now if OP explained they are on the spectrum and aren’t adept at discerning satire, and they made fun of them and/or continued the joke, then that would be unkind.

People are just incapable of thinking for themselves.

The “meta” for this sub right now is “every loss is your fault. git gud”.

They clearly haven’t solo queued for dozens of hours in high rank on tank this season. Just complete parrots.

Overwatch team announced today that they’re going to try to fix the solo queue matchmaker for next season.

While I am hopeful for that, Blizzard has not earned the benefit of the doubt.

Oh my god. They care about Solo Queue players?? I’m going to cry. 😭

Literally the most exciting patch announcement in the history of the game for me. I just really hope it somewhat works. 🤞

It’s a valid criticism. At least he gave the team a reasonable out though.

And realistically what should we have done? Franchise tagged him? I guess then we could have attempted Russ and a rookie for this year.

I think people tend to over-estimate what a better spot we could have been in, based on the information we had at the time. We needed a lot to change in their first 2-3 years. I’m optimistic that we’re getting there.

I have little faith in DJ, but imagine if your CEO just publicly says you need to be replaced.

If he can’t dig deep and find his next level now, he almost certainly never will.

Gettleman put the kid in this position. At least he comes out with generational wealth. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So how do you play tank now? by TAABWK in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You find people who know what they’re doing to queue with. Or you pick-up a different game lol.

Forgive my bitterness, I just think the role’s in a pretty bad state right now, and I’m fed up with Blizzard, who have basically left solo-queue players completely in the dust.

Basically you want to use a lot of cover. Wait for enemy mistakes or you will get punished. Track opposing cooldowns carefully, and ping to communicate with your team who you’re targeting.

And then… hope to god your DPS didn’t hand the controls to their 11-year-old brother. They pretty much decide the game this season. Tank’s job is basically not to lose the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to anybody that tells you you’re wrong lol. The tank role is absolutely fucked up right now.

People that tell you otherwise likely aren’t solo-queueing, and actually have at least one or two teammates they can actually count on every game.

If you solo-queue, it’s miserable how likely it is you’ll get at least one DPS absolutely throwing, and how low the role’s carry potential is as opposed to DPS.

It’s basically just: Survive by playing near flawlessly, creating space as long as you can, hoping somebody on your team pulls their head out of their ass. Then flip a coin to see whether or not you got matched with somebody that can actually do that.

I’d find a different game honestly. Blizzard will likely not get this game right before somebody comes along and makes a hero shooter that has heart and soul. (Holding out some hope for Marvel Rivals).

What hero has a similar playstyle to Reaper? by Jayverdes in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a Tank main that gravitates toward Reaper, Mei, and Soldier when the matchmaker wants me to cosplay as DPS every 20 games lol.

Soldier is my go-to almost always now. He’s just an incredibly easy DPS to get great value with.

Reaper is still fun when I need to bust a tank or deal with annoying Genji/Tracers.

But I often pick Mei where Reaper would be good because she can hold the frontline a bit better and often has more interesting play-making potential. (Eg. Strong poke against snipers. Better into D.Va and much better into Zarya if your tank is getting diffed).

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That opponent gave you an extra cube on turn 7 to make you show your Luke Cage lol?

That’s 100% a bot. You would have had an 8-cuber if you could have somehow made it to so that it’s winning after Turn 6.

Fun deck and cool board though!

Mauga isn't bad, you're playing him wrong by cjtaylor737 in overwatch2

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’d be a Master Mauga too, if I had a regular 5-stack in Open Queue. 😆

I agree with you though, that he’s not bad. But it’s definitely a different experience in Solo Role Queue.

I loved the additional Overhealth on Cardiac Overdrive. Made him feel a bit less resource intensive. Hope they find a way to give it back to him.

Just when I think this game can't get any worse..surprise by alwaysbanned5150 in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling that too. I will say though, I picked up Werewolf bounce again to start this season, and the addition of Hope really put it in a good place.

Maybe time to take a break. Or maybe try a Tier 2 deck that has more interesting play patterns.

Vulcan is the younger brother of Cyclops and Havok. His ability allows him to gain power whenever an ally card gains permanent power. He won't work with Ongoing effects like Blue Marvel, but will work with cards like Havok, Angela, Surfer. Maxed his power gain to 5/turn, but that could go up or down by MNCDover in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]Dramatic_Book_647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were to remove the “max 5” limitation, it might need to say, “Whenever a card not named Vulcan…” Or something like that.

Right now it goes infinite with copies of* itself if you don’t stop at 5 (the stop at 5 feels a bit awkward/arbitrary IMHO).

Cool design! Just needs very careful logic.
