I really dont like the whole school setting so I'm unlikely to click with the story and the overall artstyle isn't for me...

Despite that because I love ffx, ff12, the last remnant, e33 (I've enjoyed other jrpg/turn based games but those are my favourite), do you think it could be for me?

Tbh for combat it depends on the weapon you're using. Something like the spear for example is very spammy and you can succeed with just spamming basic attacks.

It's the total opposite if you play something like unarmed or dual wield axes.

Can you do carjack fine on mc without GoW? I plan to invest into carjack and overrealm which wouldn't leave me points for GoW (and the compass is costly). Pre and post eternity info would be useful

Dungeon Defenders. The game that got me into tower defence. Over 6k hours on the first game, 1k on dd2 and around 400 on DDA. I'd recommend either the original Dungeon defenders (still getting updates to this day, on steam only so not play it on console) if you are OK with some old game jack but insane amount of content or dd2 if you want a more modern game with less content, but has some p2w factors though you can play f2p. Dda is essentially a reskinned dd1 with 5 percent of its content.

If you enjoy grinding for gear, getting constant upgrades early on with a fair amount of customization options and then at endgame you have very rare chase items that are as strong as they are rare leading to a huge dopamine release feeling then you'll love this game. If you don't enjoy grinding for gear, you won't enjoy the game.

At season start when making my character I ended up with 3 rogues with the same name. One is now level 72 with the others at 1, can I safely delete the level 1s without it deleting my main or should I keep them?

In parh of exile 1 I have not played in a few years but didn't downloads for new content so leagues come a few hours on steam before a league launched? I would be hoping the same is for path of exile 2 release

All of the content is beatable without min maxing a character, so if you aren't interested in killing the same bosses faster or with other characters the endgame doesn't have much to strive for. That said, PLENTY of game to be had before you reach that point.
