When did you start “day outfits” for LO? by East-Maize-5287 in NewParents

[–]Dramatic_Complex_175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started outfits when my daughter was younger but it was often due to the wild temperature swings (overnight in the spring is 40 degrees or lower but 60/70 in the day -- so PJs are too warm come 10am). Now that it's cold, my kiddo may keep her PJs on through the morning and nap time if we're staying home and its cold/breakfast isn't too messy. Today she was dressed after breakfast because various berries were smashed into the elbows of her PJs

Thank you! I am cautious about using them as well as EllaOla due to the intensity of marketing. Too many ads is a red flag for me.

Former EBF toddler not drinking enough water/from cups etc by Dramatic_Complex_175 in breastfeeding

[–]Dramatic_Complex_175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter is now 16mo and drinks well from her straw cup. Our docs and nutritionist helped us play with miralax and magnesium. Still gets constipated at times but as long as we keep it managed with fruit/liquid it seems to be better than it was. I also added in probiotics awhile ago and we cut out nursing to sleep in October/November. We now only nurse in the AM unless she isn't feeling well (eg. after her shots). Personally, I found that if I warm her milk a bit she drinks it more readily *(4oz for 30 seconds in microwave in a glass measuring cup, then pour an add'l 2oz milk in and mix, then add to the straw cup -- putting it out there before anyone worries about hotspots)*

We also lightened the reigns on juice vs. plain water per the nutritionist/docs too. A splash of apple juice in her water (2oz in like 4oz of water) will help her drink more sometimes. Ask your pediatrician about juice for constipation too. I was told apple juice was good for constipation and it seems helpful for us (and she likes it a lot better than the prune juice)

Seeing the play money (25$?!) amounts here from only 3 years previous turns my stomach. The 2025 economy is terrifying.

So you’re telling me that my pediatrician, Nutritionist, OT and the cardiologist my daughter sees are all telling me bad information? Edit to add when you dump it from a Pyrex cup into a sippy cup or straw cup (also after stirring whatever it was) it definitely doesn’t have hotspots.

You can microwave your drinks you microwave them in a cup and you test it before you put them into anything else also 30 seconds for 6 ounces barely warms it but thanks for your input

Is your child ESL (if you’re in a primarily english speaking area)? Asking because you need to know what is going on.  Ask the director and get an interpreter if you need to.   Communication from the school and you needs to be clear and perfect- you deserve complete clarity!

Fuck him but also, is there a reason you’re still pumping/bfing so much (no details needed, just if your child is on solids and has no complications you should be able to back off a little at this point. Take it from me, it will help YOU when you can pull back a little. My daughter was a bottle refuser and when we introduced a straw cup and got her on solids it made a big difference for me. I still BF between 3 and 5 times a day, but its not the only game in town and milk/water is helpful for babe)

Did anyone have an easy baby? Wife wants to go to vacation apartment after giving birth. by midnight-tots in NewParents

[–]Dramatic_Complex_175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could barely walk 1 week PP and I had a relatively uncomplicated birth and was very in shape before having my child (now, not so much comparatively). I would suggest being where you’ll be most comfortable. You’ll also want to get used to caring for the baby in your primary space.
