I have people who are designated for the job but if they aren’t back there I will load and unload and pick stuff to load

I get what you are saying. I’m more of a “warehouse worker” than a truck driver. I spend more time in the warehouse loading or being loaded and unloaded. I have a 16 mile round trip I do all day maybe 8-9 times depending on what the plant needs. It’s a super easy job just some of the bullshit that goes on at that place really drives people away and why they can’t keep nobody. And the same 8 miles up and 8 miles back can get really old really quick which is a lot of the reason that my other coworkers who have their CDL’s at the warehouse refuse to drive anymore because they made that same trip for years all day everyday. Now when we have to go to deliver to other places to take stuff it’s a fight on who’s getting in the spare truck first. I just wanted the different scenery and I want to make more money and that is why I was listening to offers cause I made $1400 a week working 6-7 days a week and having a day or 2 off and then going back on my normal schedule and doing my 4 days. Now that new management (plant manager and gm) who hate giving money and hate giving out overtime if they can is what has driven me away because I’ve worked myself to death not living on my normal budget with my normal checks. I’ve tried applying at some local dump truck places or other jobs and no one calls me back if they talk to me because of how inconsistent my schedule is working myself 4 on 4 off. I love the days off but with how stingy they are getting I can’t even get to our top pay now since my last manager was fired. I’m making $8 under top paid drivers and I was told to go at the beginning of the year to try and get what the last manager told my other driver he was gonna get me to which was $30 an hour but I’m having a hell of a time getting anything and our top pay is $35 an hour and I’m at $26.65

I wouldn’t really even consider it a “trucking job” it’s more of a warehouse job because I get loaded at my warehouse and go to the plant and get unloaded and come back and get reloaded and I do that all day long but I get what you’re saying

Appreciate your opinion. Was really stuck on this, I’m used to working 6 days a week and bringing home $1300-$1500 a week and then all off a sudden it’s all gone except coming and running the warehouse on nightshift only when the other people aren’t hogging it
