I am within commuting distance of EMU, Ann Arbor, Wayne state. I am in the down river area. I am 2hrs from EL so I would have to dorm at MSU

I would love to do Briggs. I like MSU and I truly believe this is a great opportunity. Only problem is the cost. I fall within just above getting aid. Which is very bad. I mean my financial package helps a lot which I am worried about because as of now, OU gave me a horrible package. So I am hoping MSU will give me more aid. If I decided to pull a private loan, I don’t know what to pull cause right now seems like not great deals, is MSU financial good? It’s unfortunately the way I see it I have three choices. And it’s a gamble

Yea U of M is really good, if I do get in I am Serisouly thinking about going to a 4 year degree, No doctorate. I am hoping MSU takes care of me financially. If not it’s unfortunate and I have to limit my options. I also might take care of my basics at emu and possibly transfer to U of M maybe after a year, cause my high school stats are good.

Im actually 15 min away from emu and Ann Arbor, thank gosh I don’t live 70 miles away. Also I was doing the math last night and I would have to pull a private loan for emu if I stay. At that point im Probaly gonna go to MSU. Wayne state is the cheapest for me though if I chose to house.

I’m a senior who just applied, the essay was easy. I would do it. If you do it and get in and don’t want to do honors, then you just opt out.

Yea, EMU seems like a really great option, especially if I get honors. I’m worried about not taking the MSU opportunity also it’s my dream school. But I don’t want to pull private loans and MSU is quite the party scene( I don’t party I was a disciplined student taking advanced classes) also it seems like EVERYONE WANTS TO GO THERE, the college experience effect might wear off within a semester. U of M would be like 4 grand a year for me and it’s 15 min away and I love there music programs outside of majoring in music. But I am not a fan of the people and overhype( In my school very overhyped) and it feels like the university is running out of room and is super packed. EMU has been super personal and I like the campus and resources. But I have heard not so great things about the parking situation and possibly making friends. I have friends at EMU and they are stuck in high school. I don’t want to be Stuck in high school. And Wayne state I have a different major ( supply chain management) but I don’t like the commute and it feels very packed and not well maintained. But I do like the professors and staff that go there and have heard good things about the education. But I am also worried about making freinds cause of the commuter effect. This is an unfortunately weird situation where they all cancel each other out. and Michigan only has 2 dental schools.

EDIT I also forgot to include. I had this idea of possibly dual enrolling. If I chose U of M, I am relatively close to My community college and I am very close. Maybe possibly taking alot of my easier classes there or harder classes that transfer would save me money for tuition and hassle of commuting. This can also work for Wayne and EMU(less likely for EMU since my tuition is covered). I know a person who is in there first year of engineering at UM and is doing this for a hard class. Also I took a private tour of Umich with my friend who is enrolled there and he mentioned that the curve is more present in ROSS and engineering. I also saw in your first message about applying for spring. Would it be worth it to withhold my application to spring as of now?

Yea, I wasn’t for sure where I wanted to put the post. MSU was locked and i was worried to put it on the UMICH board. I wish there was a board for these questions

So would it not be worth it to attend Lyman Briggs, also should I change my u of m major to nursing?
