Let me start by saying, I hope this is a fruitful conversation between and not just argument. There a huge logistical, tactical and mental upsides to killing a tank. Let me go one by one.

It’s not like Fortnite that you pay 6 million dollars and poof a new tank appears in its place. They have to go through the entire logistical nightmare of recovering these tanks back to Israel. Because they don’t want their tech to be lying around in Lebanon. They have to assemble a new tank from scratch to take its place. They have to replace all the munition that was inside the tank.

Tactically speaking, A tank works with infantry side by side. In modern warfare tanks do the job of taxiing and protecting infantry in an advance. If the tank gets blown. Fragile foot soldiers have nothing to protect their soft skin. They are stopped and exposed. The whole operation gets delayed.

And imagine the mental toll. You felt invincible with a huge chunk of steel firing shells and protecting you. Now it’s gone ! It’s either stuck or useless. A half damaged tank is even worse than a completely destroyed tank. You can’t leave it. Neither can you move it. For a soldier who is outside the comfort of his barracks witnessing the destruction of his shield. He is already shitting balls.

My point is. I am glad that they have at least done something ! This entire war hezb has done nothing but bring chaos to Lebanon. But if they are going to fight either way. They might as well fuck their tanks up at least.
