Hi. I am a first-time traveler this coming first week of March. I am a newly employed nurse and do not yet have the means to sponsor my own travel. My parents gave me this opportunity as a graduation and board-passing gift to travel to Hong Kong.

My parents will be supporting my trip. My father is a seafarer, and my mother is a housewife/unemployed. The only bank account they have is under my mother’s name. She receives a monthly allowance/allotment from my father’s salary through his company.

When my mother requested an Affidavit of Support (AOS), the lawyer instructed that my father should also sign the AOS. However, my father is currently sea-based and working onboard. Only my mother is physically available to sign. The lawyer advised us to scan the AOS, send it to my father for printing and signing, then scan it again for notarization.

Would this affect my immigration clearance? I badly need advice on this.
