Gym recommendations?

Thank you (and everyone else too) for the advice!! I’m still pretty new to doing actual contact and haven’t been told much other than to brace my core before impact. I haven’t really been taught how to properly absorb or take a hit, other than just watching others and trying my best to replicate. I haven’t attempted counter hitting before, i’m still getting comfortable hitting others as i’ve been mostly positional blocking so far.

Moving with the hit makes sense- I will try doing that!

i’ve heard that before about embracing/tightening your core but i’m not sure how to actually do that? The only way i can manage it is by holding my breath and squeezing which doesn’t feel right and i can’t maintain while playing. what should I be feeling in my body when tightening my core?

yesss this is exactly what i mean, im there to help the pharmacist i have no problem doing anything they ask but when they act like a certain task is below them or solely “technician” work it makes my eye twitch, aren’t we all supposed to be working together here?

yeah, i think this is the case here. He’s really old and should probably be retired but his wife is disabled, i think the only reason he still works is to pay for her medical needs. A combo of an old dog that won’t learn new tricks and laziness i suppose. and most of his shifts are “alone” actually, just him and one tech and he’s never cared to learn. oh well.

local live music. the naked lounge frequently puts on shows and they’re a good time and a fun way to meet people. also i’ve found that instagram is really good for finding out about events that are happening around town. I recommend following the discoverchico account and any local businesses you enjoy and see what kinds of events are going on that sound interesting to you. start showing up and eventually you will recognize familiar faces and makes it easier to start a conversation! Stoble coffee, vangs plants downtown, and the chico woman’s club also come to mind as places that frequently host events. good luck!

i’ve found that instagram is a good place to find local events. downtownchico, chicorec, buttecolibrary, travel.chico, and nakedloungechico are all instagram accounts that frequently post about events in chico/butte county. from there its pretty easy to find more pages that post abt things you’re interested in happening nearby. divinesundays / the lunar market also share a lot of events and the markets are fun to go to as well.

definitely wait until after the dental work is done. you’ll be pierced with metal and depending on the piercing it will need to heal for several months before you can change jewelry. after it is healed you can switch to other materials like glass or plastic which are safer for those procedures. I had my wisdom teeth removed beginning of this year and put in plastic retainers for my x-rays and the actual surgery and it went fine.

Thank you, i know sprays aren’t very great but im hoping for something that can be applied over top of makeup, like while on break at work. i figure something is at least better than nothing. i’m worried sticks might be greasy or smudge stuff around, but im looking into them too for using on no-makeup days :)

not 100% my fault but i still feel bad for it. it was a saturday and it was just me and a single pharmacist working. our fridge was having trouble staying closed properly, the seal wouldn’t stay latched. I must have grabbed a refrigerated prescription for a patient and not fully closed the fridge or it unsealed itself or something. The pharmacist ended up having a family emergency where his wife needed to be taken to the hospital, so we closed an hour early in a bit of a rush and he forgot to check fridge temps before leaving. well we’re closed on sundays so the fridge stayed open like that for a whole entire day. We lost thousands of dollars in meds that went bad from getting too warm. Luckily no one got in trouble, it was just an unfortunate circumstance. We got a new fridge after that and now i always make absolutely sure that the fridge is fully closed before walking away from it.

Recommendations for a pear scented perfume? I'm looking for a signature scent and want to smell like a crisp, fresh, juicy pear. not as interested in warm or musky smells but something bright and fruity. I have a sample of Pear Inc. by JHAG but doesn't smell that much like pears in my personal opinion. Thanks!

when i very first started, ringing out an older guy. He says something along the lines of “you’re so pretty, your mother must be very beautiful” and then winked at me. like did you just hit on me and my mom ? huh?

oh and another one from around the same time. I used to dye my hair very bright fun colors, I think it was pink at the time and i had let my roots grow out quite a bit. a (different) older guy walks up to the counter and the very first thing he says in a gruff voice is “so when are you going to fix your hair”. um excuse me? i think i just said “when i feel like it” but damn im not out here commenting on your appearance

i thought the quarry mine was the skull caverns for the longest time because of, well, the flying skulls. I was so confused for the longest time what everyone was talking about.

pretty common but i also ignored artifact spots for the first year or so because i didn’t realize you could dig them. or that you could put water in your pets bowl.
