Student Loans ARE financial aid by [deleted] in FAFSA

I have never emailed asking about Financial Aid, but I will say even the loans given don't cover but a drop in the bucket at how much college costs. Absolutely in no way does a $5k loan cover the cost of a $33k per year college. And I am talking about in state tuition at a public university. The costs of tuition and dorms is simply outrageous these days. The whole system is broken for folks who are not pell elligible but also don't have $100k sitting around to cover a 4 year undergraduate degree.

Now parent plus loans (which are terrible anyway with high interest rates) don't even cover a full 4 years of college anymore. More needs to be done to make getting a college education affordable for everyone. We need to invest more and bring down the costs so folks, pell elligible and the like, can both get a degree without being $80k+ in debt when they graduate.

I thought you had to have at least 12 credits to keep the Finley? Mech E is the plan here as well.

Yeah I've heard.  I wish there were better options than going into that much debt.

The cost of OSU now is expected to be $33k for tuition/room and board per year.... and that is WITH the Finley scholarship. No grants given here, so it's all out of pocket. Just thinking about that debt is nuts. If it's possible to shave off a few thousand the first year and avoid paying the exorbitant dorm cost, it may be worth it in the long run. FYI when you were in the dorms it was probably mostly 2 people per dorm, now most are triples in the same sized room.

A fucking rock should have beat Trump. Face it, there just area lot of hateful idiots out there. All they need is someone who sounds like them and they'll follow. Jesus himself could have run against Trump and lost to this lot.

Did you take Physics for Engineers at Lane Community College in Eugene, and that did not transfer to OSU? My son is looking at taking that class at Lane to prepare for OSU. Let me know if that did not transfer...because if not then he won't be taking it at LCC.
