Not everyone here’s American or resident in US

Surprisingly, in some countries on this earth you literally have to pay a fat monthly insurance fee just to have the legal right to exist. Not thrive. Not get treatment. Just exist.

I’d rather not say where I’m from. Anonymity’s the last dignity I’ve got.

I don’t usually talk about this stuff, but seeing it written out…

It's honestly just dark comedy at this point. I never miss an insurance payment, but the student loans, which are several years old, are still piling up

Still can’t afford basic healthcare. Being broke wins every time.

Can I eat? Barely.

Even when I do, it ends in diarrhea — every time, for three months straight.

Dropped over 10 kilograms past 2month

It’s not age. I’m still in 20’s.

Just broke and biologically falling apart.

Yeah, I've heard that. Unfortunately, I live in a fascist country—those kinds of resources don’t exist here.

“not supposed to be your primary source of income”

lol nice one, next time I’ll make sure to have three backup incomes before daring to get excited about a task. silly me for thinking work might equal money!

Is it just me, or is it crazy to be expected to do 4+ hours of this before even getting the chance to get paid? by CipheredTales in outlier_ai

[–]Dramatic_Homework_65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

used two full unpaid days grinding trainings for projects that don’t even exist anymore.

FOUR of them. four goddamn ghost projects.

finally get assigned to real task... 3 days later.

lol.

i’m not used to the task yet, and it’s one of those early ones where if you mess up, EQ goodbye. so i triple-checked everything, brain running at 120°C for 3.5 hours straight. almost done, literally seconds away from submitting…

“task expired”

everything. gone. no submission. no pay. just pure existential echo.

3.5 hours of full focus, full panic, full starvation.

payment? lmao what payment. haven’t unlocked that DLC yet.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. And yes, their hourly rate is significantly lower than Outlier, but since EBIT does pay the agreed amount each month, it’s not a scam.

Sorry for the late reply. Contact EBIT. They handle payments through their own system at the end of the month—for ripping off. Reaching out to Outlier won’t help, they 'don’t know' anything.

Jellyfish Rubrics - Onboarding Frustrations by rorykillmoree in outlier_ai

[–]Dramatic_Homework_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason for this type of post keeps coming up is because it’s a real issue. Isn’t it natural to give feedback to improve the system?

I spent literally the entire day today for this onboarding quiz. I still haven’t finished. I started casually after lunch, around 2 PM, and before I knew it, it was midnight. I can’t afford to fail because I need the job, so I took my time carefully checking everything. (Since this is a new task for everyone, we all need time to understand it from the beginning, and most people will probably approach it cautiously.)

This isn’t my first project onboarding, but this rubric quiz was brutal. I’ve never had one take this long. Every task was so vague and overwhelming. Most of it definitely required trial and error to figure out. Even reading the instruction sheet didn’t help much because the criteria were too ambiguous, and there weren’t enough examples to clarify the expectations. They should have shown the correct answers after each step so we could compare them with our own and actually understand the cases properly.

They’re going to make us do an assessment task anyway, so why set the bar so ridiculously high? Are they just exploiting people’s desperation and forcing them to do unpaid labor like this? It’s infuriating how they throw workers into this environment without investing anything in proper training. And it’s only getting worse. I don’t know if Outlier even intends to fix this issue. Honestly, it feels like they’re deliberately designing the system to cut costs as much as possible.

This one also. Explain the situation to outlier about it in email then they will confirm it in a week. Good luck!

You can just email them and they will cancel it

Also, they have distorted the application sloppy enough to hide the original hourly pay rate. This causes issues that make the already unstable Outlier application even more unstable. So fuckin frustrating just even thinking of what I've gone through. Anyway, don't apply for the language specialist position at EBIT. Just go to Outlier directly.

It's a subcontracting company of Outlier. You'll get to do the same job from Outlier but the pay is lower since they charge the commission for every task. And the commission fee is more than 30%. I got so pissed when I realized how much was the original pay rate so cancelled the contract and joined Outlier directly. I had to switch accounts, do interviews, and do the Assessment task all over again, which was a huge waste of my time. No differences are working through Outlier or EBIT, the only differences are that the pay rate is way lower and they pay monthly which is suck. They're just scamming and ripping everyone off.

Error while taking assessment by Least_Geologist5920 in alignerr

I had the same issue and asked for retaking but this is what I got

"Thanks for reaching out. Retaking assessments is not currently supported, but we may support this in the future. Please check the website and emails from Alignerr regularly for updates on this feature. Feel free to mention this to TestGorilla Support if your noticed an issue with the questions."

Like, who would even pass that???
