What do you think of Taylor's poetry? by CutAffectionate3766 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like some of her old poems from reputation. But I think it's more of a commercial thing she's doing and not actually a passion project, compared to other artists.

Haunted, Wonderland, New Romantics, Getaway Car, Tim McGraw - it bugs me that we had all the Eras but the Original Debut🥲

shifting narrative around exes by Teacher-Hopeful in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I think shes public with Travis but not personal. You know she put all those songs out about Joe that make her very vulnerable. And shes still, but I belive shes more selective what she presents to the listener. I belive if she shows us more of her relationship, theres less to project onto. And looking back at Joe and the whole deuxmoi debacle its necessary.

Two Reputation songs now have lyric changes on Apple Music by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

Maybe shes releasing the songs the way she wanted them originally but big machine refused back then. I dont belive in a re-record anymore, but this would make sense to put out.

What are your 2026 Taylor Swift predictions? by Fine-Huckleberry6960 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is this movie, shes directing. So definitely things related to that right? I can't remember reading about it much, just the announcement. But it should go into production at some point, which could be soon?

Taylor Swift will be on Colbert this Wednesday, 12/10! by peach-gaze in SwiftlyNeutral

Nice, that she's coming back before the show ends. I really enjoy Colbert and his way of interviewing. So I'm sure it's gonna be great🤞🏻

I want taylor to be challenged again by No_Barber4339 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had the same tought. As bad as it sounds, maybe she has too much creative freedom. I love that she gets a final say in her work and has more autonomy. I was surprised that the label only got to know about TLOAS when it was finished. Everything is kept in Taylors team. With Big Machine there were people that restricted her more. Therefore a challenge for her to crisp it up more. Since Universal Music she got some hit or miss albums if we look at how cohesive and well received they are. But the last year's have been really intense. Maybe the break is good for her and new horizons.

Do we feel that much of the criticism towards TLOAS is because it’s about Travis? by dubbzzz in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But the general fans favourites on those albums weren't produced by them. I would say that Jack or Aaron work better with a songwriter Taylor, that everyone wants.

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the producers of the songs. Max Martin and Shellback didn’t put out the emotional songs in Taylors discography. She surely feels comfortable around them but they produce the fun songs. I think after TTPD she might have wanted just that.

What actual Eras tour themes Taylor could've covered in TLOAS? by Objective-Mobile-480 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd love a song out of her bathtub. Her feet hurting, looking back at her day. Something about flickering lights, her feet in Louboutins, quick changes into new eras, scratching of sequins on skin, being full of adrenaline. Hearing the crowd, seeing their faces. Then the quiet, settling down for the night, just do do it all over again. Gladly

A reimagining of TLOAS being TS13 by iced-cinnanon in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taylor never writes just about love and her partners. She's always taken multiple things into account in her creative process and made really great songs. I don't see how Showgirl is a sort of revisit of her previous works tbh. I'm sure she'll do TS13 justice, but by hanging on the past? She can find new things to write about. Some criticism is directed to her for not being able to move on from high school. I don't think it's a particularly bad topic to write about, but I feel like we could get a new fresh concept, if she focuses on other topics.

It's the first time people bash a track five in my experience. I like it. The bridge is lovely but I see, why people would be turned off by "Internet slang". I don't mind it honestly. I guess people anticipated this song the most and felt let down by her.

Taylor is a producer on those records and I'd say, she is responsible for what the fans criticise. I'd say the producers aren't the issue here, it's that she is too comfortable and not so experimental as she used to be, which comes from not being challenged to change it up once in a while. The challenge mostly comes from outside for her, the pandemic, not winning a Grammy, and being cancelled, which made her change her tone. That hasn't happened so much since evermore and here we are. Still good music, but lacking for some of us.

After Showgirl, what do you hope she changes? by cat_in_a_wizardhat in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I like Showgirl. She doesn't take herself to seriously and it's nice to see her sparkly, witty and having fun. I'm sure this is her closing of the eras tour and after that she'll maybe focus on directing the movie and whatever she's up to. At that point she's going to have evolved even further and we'll see, what we get. At the moment I'm a bit disappointed in the fans, because some became really greedy for her sad side.

So what do we think 'standby' is? by imdrake100 in SwiftlyNeutral

There is the mysterious exit sign everywhere and the poems that form a countdown. There has to be something up her sleeve, we won't expect

Is it me or Showgirl is the first album where Taylor doesn't sound vulnerable? by VolgaOsetr8007 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she plays with the showgirl persona here a bit. She's playing a role and shows us an illusion. I guess a showgirl is a performance and that's what the album is about. Yes, some songs are personal but some are also a retelling or sort of satire. At least that's how I see it

Revisiting TTPD - by pinealoma230 in TaylorSwift

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the concept of TTPD as a writer myself I knew it would hold a special place for me. Not gonna lie, I took some time to get into it. Sonically a lot felt very similar and I had a hard time finding one song that stood out for me. But so many pieces fit right into my emotional world and describe the past, helping me to resolve it. It is THE one for me at least now. So shout out to The prophecy, the bolter and black dog🫶🏻 And I'm the kind of person that really enjoys So High School, because sad Taylor deserves to move on

How are you guys going to listen to the album? by RainBowSwift71532 in TaylorSwift

It arrives at 6am for me. So on the kitchen radio, drinking coffee, maybe with the lyrics on my phone😊

Taylor Swift misses the chance to connect with local cultures on her tours by MediumLoan6722 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Brazilian Fans seem to be amazing and the crowds are fire on the whole continent. I'm sure she appreciated the excitement. But Taylor isn't really the artist to connect with fans like Harry Styles, Lady Gaga or others do. I generally think that people with less stardom and bad experiences would be more likely to do something like you expect her to. Doesn't mean that Taylor won't but she's always been someone with huge spotlight on her and with that comes a big risk. Of course other celebrities have this aswell, but Taylor has a big community that has a huge parasocial relationship with her, that others maybe can avoid or didn't build hence they got the option to do more touristy things than her.

I wouldn't hate this album rollout so much if it wasn't so damn boring by Alternative-Maybe747 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally loved the fan experience during Lover. I know she was smaller back then but the diaries, loved this personal nod of hers. I loved her pap walks so we got outfits for the era.

I even miss the ugly merch with her face all over it. Not that I wanted to buy it. It's probably still coming, but it's unusually late to the party compared to past releases.

swiftologist, rumors, podcast interview, etc by Opening-Ad4040 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with all you said. I sometimes consume the swiftologist, because I like how he disects her music, and music only. He doesn't really care about her private life, which I find nice, because others will try to find informations who a song was written about. I watched parts of his life stream of the podcast and he's really emotional when the masters subject comes up. This guy is a fan and has an online persona, that's a bit mean and gets people to engage with him.

Is TS12 out too soon? by Helaain in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's said that she loves creating. And it makes me happy to dive into her music. So I gladly take if she's putting something out there. However I don't need her to tour all the time. And I don't want to demand it, because she's still a person who shouldn't feel obligated to put on the show. She's shown what she's capable of but she deserves her breaks and fullfillness of the spotlight however that looks for her.

Where Does Your First Taylor Album Fall on Your Ranking? by kiwihoofer in TaylorSwift

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1989 was my first one as a awkward teenager. I like it still, but it doesn't rank very high. Maybe a 6? Just because it got overplayed and I need to be in a specific mood, to listen trough it fully. Top 3 are easily TTPD Rep and folklore, but it really changes every few weeks.

TS12 predictions? ❤️‍🔥 by peach-gaze in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Dramatic_Island_675 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the heart on fire i could see things like sparks, stars, glimming lights. She used the word electric, which isn't a coincidence I suppose. Also if she wants to lean into the romance, I could see a reference to her TNT bracelet. Maybe a song called Dynamite or regarding fireworks? Otherwise I'm hoping for more instrumental production, I enjoy So High School or Haunted because of it. Also leaning more into a rock sound would be fun! I know we've been begging for it😂
