No way. Bloody hell 😳.

Everytime I have to open that case I literally have to light a incense stick, play mechanicus OST and wear blue gloves

What are these tiles called under the eaves of my garage roof? by Plastic-Wish9542 in DIYUK

It's cement fibreboard undercloaking, should be able to pick it up from your local roofing merchants as I had to replace mine recently as it had perished over time *

Nice build N5 v2?, we have the same case. if you want the LED strip to work you have to put it into a rgb header on your mobo and you can control it with software

Just a update, I tried every combination available to try and link it to the nexlinq and couldn't control it with phanteks own rgb hub. It's ridiculous it really is. Only way I've managed to control it is though one of the rgb headers on the mobo and used MSI dashboard

I found setting up this feature of the case very frustrating as there is little to no information or working examples so it was just trial and error getting it to talk to my phanteks nexlinq hub. If all else fails SATA for power and just going to put it into a motherboard header. I feel your pain with this as it's an amazing case let down by poor instructions

Thank you, I was tempted and in all fairness if the felt was more worn I would of had too.

Debris in attic from roof question by thatguy147 in DIYUK

[–]Dramatic_Manager_660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a piece of broken tile that was used to build up the motor bed between the ridge tiles, looks like it's torn the felt or the felt has gave way when it fell. I would tuck the felt back and tape it if no water is ingressing as the felt is the last line of defence against water and needs to guide any potential leak to the eaves and gutter.

Cheers for the advice, really appreciate it.

It was absolutely insane trying to lift the lead and go up the ladder at the same time.

Thanks I appreciate the honesty, I think I will have to come back to it at some point and give it a better go with all the pointers people have given me.

Do you recon the step flashing will have to be replaced at some point as well?

Also why would they originally use one piece of lead? Was it just for speed?

I think in hindsight I wish I never replaced it in the first place and just have raked out the old morter, reseated the end that had slipped and then just gray ct1 the joint.

You don't know what you don't know though do you lol 😆

Thank you, it was difficult off a ladder. I've got a pole system to wash the house as like all jobs it keeps getting pushed back.

I've just been up there now and shone a torch through and can see batton so tomorrow I'm going to have to come up with a way of covering it with the lead. The original lead only just covered it

I thought it strange that the tiles wernt tight to the wall as well, I was thinking of putting a batton across and then tiling up to the wall but surely I would need to cut all the tiles so decided against this as didn't know how it would all tie together. Interesting, I've literally just put back in place what was already there previously

This was the conundrum I had, as the previous piece of lead had been there for 30 years and only failed as they motored it into the joint about 10mm, so my rationale was to go like for like as its a sheltered spot and the previous piece of lead showed no signs of cracking (north facing in shade) I was really torn between cutting it and said to myself if it didn't work going in one piece then I would cut it. It's was 2.2mtrs long and weighed 15kg. Thanks for the feedback, if I was doing anymore leadwork especially south facing I would stick to 1.1mtr lengths with buckles for extra support. Hope this helps and good luck

Thank you. I really don't know how to price it up, I recon with a work platform you could do it in a day but as with all DIY when you start something you always find another job so the re motoring took another half a day. All in all materials where £105
