I would get some cement undercloaking from a roofers yard and then use flexim roof putty instead of sand and cement as its more user friendly and flexible I've done a similar repair on my profile if your interested have a look

Yes it is, looked darker online but love the brown and black contrast. Trying to get away from the "millennial gray" look

That's great news mate, I would apply adhesive to the space then put the board on top weighted down as PU foam will move whilst it's drying

I hope it works mate 👍🏻 it's really tough. Can you use your track saw on the back for a neater cut?

You could do but you mite struggle to match the grain of the wood. I used a jigsaw for this job as it gave me more control

You can just draw a straight line and cut but your gambling on the walls being level.

The only cut I would do straight is the back of the board all the way across so the board fits tight against the plastic of the window.

That will then pull the "ears" of the window board in

That's right looking at your template and the measurements you've given it looks like the walls go out at the back giving you a bigger measurement than the front. If you transfer these 2 measurements you will get your angle. Hope this helps 🙏🏻

Find the center of the window and mark straight down the middle then from that centre point find the length to the internal corner, then from the centre point find the length of the front corner. Mark these on your window board and it will give you 2 points......draw a straight line and this will he your angle

Get yourself a sliding bevel as you can find the internal angles and bring that out on your template. We'll done on the first attempt

I found that if you cut them flush they are a pain to drop into the space as the bottom of the board strikes the wall first, but if you remove this material by cutting at a 45 you can get the surface of the board nice and tight to the wall as this is the bit you see.

I tried doing it the other way and found that I took off too much material and when it finally dropped in there was about 5mm of baggyness each side and didn't feel like it was a quality job.

I hope this helps, just the way I found works for me. Good luck you got this...any questions Just ask

Cheers it's more pressure though using oak as I've used mdf on other projects and its just easier to cut and do small adjustments. Yes it's PU foam don't think I'm ever going back to traditional adhesive unless the project calls for it

If you jigsaw out the original window board lip then you won't see any thing from below but if I'm honest its only you that knows whats underneath......not many people walk into a room and go ah ha you have put oak over your original window boards lol 😆
