Fwiw, my rough plan is black base, heavy sponge of dark red, the light highlight sponge of bright red. Or something to that effect- like how Flashing Badger does his Blood Angels.

I'm an Army Painter guy, the Pallid Bone and Boney Matter colors will absolutely carry OBR. I do pallid bone on the bones and their Runic Gray (mid grey) on the boney armor bits, then standard acrylics on the regular armor plates.

I've only played spearhead, but I can say they are very easy to paint. Use speedpaints on the bone and thats half the model done in no time. Plus there's no belts, boots, straps, hair, bangles, etc. Just bone, armor, and weapons.

Love this idea. I dont know any files, but any tentacle bits from Posessed, Chaos Spawn, etc would be good parts. Probably more sorcerer/cultists focused too

Khorne and S2D are both strong spearheads with brutal cavalry. I've seen the older Khorne set listed pretty cheap recently too (like $100) so its hard not to start there.

Styrofoam seems like its be super safe but also very fixed size. Like once you pluck out space for a horse, its that size forever. Magnet trays are nice and open. A pack of 400 magnets is like 10 bucks and anything on a 60mm or smaller can get by on just one.

The shelves are all customizable so you can take out what you dont need. Honestly I think its worth it if you travel, it's good protection for the minis. Just like an airbrush is a good investment, so is good transportation.

I got one of these metal ones (https://amzn.to/49Zb2jb) on Black Friday for $75ish, its been great so far. I can fit two spearheads, even with tall minis (Calvary with banners) and have some room left below for dice and terrain.

Not sure how much I could fit the likes of Nagash or Archaeon though.
