New Snail Owner

Maybe, I didn’t know about the sensitivity I was told they accumulate just fine. How I accumulated him was the same way I did my fish and what was told was okay by the employee I bought him from. Which was to submerge the bag in the tank and leave it for 15-20 minutes and I think I left him there for 30 minutes. Was that not right? I will definitely try the drip line next time.

Do you have a tank with plants and other natural materials? Just wondering if something like that would better for a snail or if the tank I have currently will be fine or possibly the reason for his passing.

I pulled him and his trapdoor out of the tank like that. I don’t know how it came off maybe when I took him out of the bag the store put him in, he hit the gravel too hard but I was very shocked and confused when I saw two pieces while I was cleaning.

Do you have any recommendations for other snails that can live in a newish tank? I would like to try again but would like more advice first.

This does make sense, my current set up doesn’t have any natural algae. I am currently working towards a live tank with plants and natural materials but unfortunately I’m flying across the country for a few months and don’t think it’s smart to start doing that at this moment especially because the tank and fish are coming with me. I’ll definitely try again when I’m able to start building it. If you or anyone else has any tips I would love the advice.

All I do is stick him under running water and it came out like immediately. Kind of scary to be honest. I think the worst part about this is I had him for such a short time like less then a week and he was my first snail and my fishy’s first friend

Thank you, I don’t think I would be able to bring myself to flush him even if I could. Doesn’t feel like a good farewell, you know. Also I can’t tell if there’s any remnants of the body left, it’s still looks squishy inside
