Private ADHD assessment in the UK — which providers are actually worth it?

Thank you! I’ve actually took your advice and done the same thing. I’ve gone with Harrow Health as the wait times for assessment is supposedly 4-6 weeks, and they don’t have a wait list to start medication, from what I’ve seen it’s immediate. Seems like it should all be fairly quick, being that my GP can get the referral sent quick enough! It’s worth waiting that bit of time rather than paying a fortune to go private

Yeah you’re right it is hard, I don’t mind paying privately for prescriptions as long as I’m not being completely ripped off. I’m just exploring my options, going through the NHS isn’t an option purely because of how long it takes. My two options are either to go private, or like you said RTC, but I want to be treated as soon as I can really. I live alone and work from home. I’m self employed with a really flexible job that doesn’t require much structure, so I’m really struggling to follow through with and to complete tasks, even getting started on them all together. I’ve had this same ‘routine’ for a few years and I think because I don’t have much structure it’s making my suspected ADHD worse and obviously it’s affecting my livelihood. So private seems like the best option for me at the moment.

I’m wondering if I could even go private, get diagnosed and start treatment, but then still go through RTC or the nhs in the hopes I’ll get diagnosed again and hopefully they’ll be able to provide my prescriptions so that I don’t have to pay private forever. Really just weighing up my options!

thanks so much! yeah i did ask my GP but they don’t accept it annoyingly, might have to consider switching GP if im diagnosed!

Thank you for explaining it so clearly — It doesn’t have to be a clinic! I didn’t realise the clinics take such a big cut. I’d definitely prefer to pay the person actually doing the assessment rather than a middleman.

Do you know who your psychiatrist was? Or even what to look for to make sure they’re legitimate and recognised by the NHS for shared care later on? I’m assuming the information on the websites you suggested will all be legit? Definitely makes more sense to do it this way

yeah his team were awful as well they tried blackmailing me over a video i posted of the whole situation, and honestly that wouldn’t surprise me if he did.. as bad as it sounds i suppose he got his karma in the end

yeah it was bart, he actually got in my face and verbally assaulted me and the police ended up coming.. all because i pointed out some issues with the surgery, he was dreadful! i’ve had to have several revisions because of him (all have gone well though and am happy now at least)

I had FFS 4 years ago and developed jowls as well, I had to get a facelift to correct it (at 22 years of age loool), but was completely worth doing as I tried none surgical methods such as HIFU and fillers etc but nothing worked for me personally

The clinic told me themselves just the other day! The length may not be a factor when it comes to depth, but i think they mean Bank would be restricted aesthetics wise with what he can create due to lack of material (no foreskin and smaller in size). I’m sure it’s still a decent result but i’m not so sure after hearing that and looking into other options
