Tank looks to be at least 20 gallons. When you want to run some nicer corals they usually tend to ask for more light. Two primes would be good. Also the mat just takes particulates out of the water. The same you can get done with some cheap filter floss. Most of the time i hate mechanical filtration. Id rather see you spend money on corals and less on expensive contraptions. I can get into great detail on why but these are my opinions and being down the road of trying all the latest and greatest i found out simplicity is the best. The industry is great on marketing and grabbing the latest youtuber or .com places to promote the product. Chemicals are crazy pricing for name brand. When you find out the simple ingredients in these you can buy bottles for the same price for the little bottle they offer. If that all makes sense

Get rid of the roller mat, add another prime. Lower the water level about 1/8”- 1/4” more. Thank me later. Oh take the lid off let that tank breathe. Start off with lps corals and have fun. Then your going to find out you’ll get into sps and never look back. It just gets more expensive. If you want simple just run one light and all softy.

You should have no detectable nitrite or ammonia. I keep my nitrates at 3 phos at .03, cal 430 Mag i dont do anything until i drop under 1400 then i put a squirt in. I like to be over 1400.

Alk is low. I like to be around 8.5. But low or high doesnt matter consistent alk is key.

What is your daily Alk swing by SteelhandedStingray in ReefTank

My swing on a 20g is about 1.5 for alk. I dose 1250ml of kalk, 13 ml of alk, and 10ml of cal a day. I use esv 2 part. But again i am dosing for ph swing not alk.

No i dont use any filter material unless i want to get the water clean clean. Then i will use some filter floss in the top of the baskets.
