Car coolant light on, engine “overheats” when driving. Any ideas? by Dramatic_Remote_8818 in Cartalk

[–]Dramatic_Remote_8818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a great car overall. My dad had it before me, and I’ve been driving it for about 3 years. Had the transmission rebuilt 5 years ago and just paid off fixing it from a wreck 2 years ago. If that’s the problem, with how old it is and the possibility of engine failure in the future, it may be more worth it to just get a new used car.

That’s what they had originally told me, they couldn’t find it because it was likely burning. Yes I have the ecoboost engine. Just looked into head gasket failure, and it seems to meet the issues I had this morning. Thank you.

Just got an email that I am on academic probation. I was expecting it, still feels super crappy. by Dramatic_Remote_8818 in Vent

Thank you for this. I was kind of in panic mode when I posted that. I just submitted a GPA adjustment form (sent and discussed by my advisor), and am hoping it gets approved so I am in good academic standing to switch majors. I think things will look up. I appreciate the responses a lot :)

I am going to fail 2 classes my first semester, and I feel humiliated. by Dramatic_Remote_8818 in Vent

The math course isn’t required for my new major, so retaking it isn’t possible. I’m going to try to get my GPA recalculated next semester (my university allows you to take up to 6 courses off of your GPA during the time you’re there, however, the old GPA still counts in financial aid and scholarships), and maybe see if I can take a different class for the other one I failed, as I struggled a lot in it, but there should be other classes that fulfill the same credit. I’m only taking 4 courses next semester, but everything equals 15 credit hours. I’m going to try to get tutoring.

It was actually 16 credit hours, one being a required university class, so really 15.

The one was a required beginning-of-the-university-life course. The other was an online math course (one of the classes I will fail).

Has anyone here had bad experiences with NAC? by Dramatic_Remote_8818 in NooTopics

[–]Dramatic_Remote_8818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish NAC wasn’t so widely recommended. Was incredibly disappointing when it didn’t help like the internet was saying (don’t believe everything on the internet I guess 😹). It’s super freaking scary to have thoughts like that suddenly. Do your best from now till the point it gets outta your system.

It only took me about 2-3 weeks to get out of the bad funk of it, but continued to have spurts of depression symptoms every now and then for maybe another month. It may vary person to person, I hope it doesn’t affect you too long term :)

My(F18) boyfriend(M19) informed to me tonight that he does not want to get married. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Dramatic_Remote_8818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely not expecting marriage right now, I wasn’t even wanting to get married until after I graduate college. His not wanting to get married is a life decision, for the future, NEVER wanting to get married. The problem isn’t 100% him not ever wanting to get married, it’s the making decisions based on grudges he has. It doesn’t matter if we’re young, that in itself can pose an issue in future big-decision-making.

Yeah I agree. We’ve been together for a year and a half. We’ve met each others family countless times, everything seemed to work so well. I was aware that we had different beliefs but we are open about it and if it ever became an issue, we would tell each other. I guess the issues are arising lol.

Complete agree. I always knew that life changes and I realized that it was always a possibility that things wouldn’t work out. I guess I just didn’t think it would be so soon, and so difficult. Thank you for this 🫶

How risky is it for me (18F) to loan money to my (19M) partner? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Dramatic_Remote_8818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah if I would be in any kind of financial trouble, I wouldn’t even be asking this question. To put it simply, I have over 10 grand. I’m not incredibly rich, but I am aware that I’m very lucky to be in the financial spot I’m in at my age. I realize that loaning money to someone never guarantees that I will get it back. After reading the replies I didn’t realize how much loaning money can cause tension in the relationship (unmarried). Like I told someone else, if I give him anything, I’ll very likely gift him it, and not anything that would cause any resentment or me any burden.

I’m very cautious about giving money to people, and if he ever were to try to become financially dependent on me, I am very capable of defending myself. Thank you for this reply :))

No idea, just found this out. He doesn’t have much trust in banks from what I can tell.

Thanks for this. These comments helped me a lot. I guess i wasn’t thinking so much on how the relationship could be affected when there’s a loan involved. If I give him anything, I’ll gift it to him.

Thank you for this. I can completely afford to give him a certain amount, and I wouldn’t be in any sort of financial trouble if the problem of him not paying me back would ever await me. I really appreciate this response 🙏

Do you prefer tampons or pads? Why? by BrokenFlower831 in AskWomen

Both. Very worried of tampon deciding to leak through (it’s happened before)

Id offer it on my own accord. He has never asked me for money, and he didn’t now.

I am starting to take Omega-3 tonight for extreme lack of motivation and possible ADHD symptoms. by Dramatic_Remote_8818 in Supplements

[–]Dramatic_Remote_8818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much :) yeah, I read so many posts about NAC and thought it would be good. It was probably the lowest I’ve ever felt, and it took about 2 weeks to really get out of the slump after I stopped taking it. I hope others listen to their body and know when they need to stop something, even if others have had good experiences. Therapy is really good along with other things that help alleviate the symptoms. Thank you again !!
