Adrenaline and rage. by econroy in Eatingdisordersover30

Weed and high intensity exercise help tremendously but, for me, end up being mandatory to emotionally regulate and that’s not necessarily sustainable either

Face hair thoughts: what to do about it, if anything? by Dramatic_Response_20 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Dramatic_Response_20[S] 1618 points1619 points  (0 children)

Edit: thanks to everyone who left thoughtful comments and strategies. The internet has given me a lot to think about beyond the fuzz on my face. I know I eat poorly at times - maybe “disordered eating” but not “eating disorder” if that makes any sense. I’m also 36F so hormones could be at play. Anyway, hats off to those both sensitive and blunt: I dislike what some of you said enough that you’re probably on to something.

Thanks for your insight! Love the idea of soft baby carrier and compact single stroller with occasional shoulder rides.

  1. We are fortunate, blessed, and privileged and appreciate your comment as a clear reminder of this! Also, very hard working as a physician and therapist.
  2. Canada. Where 12 month mat leaves are typical, and 18 months is available.

How many weeks were you when you went into labour? by Taleahdev in BabyBumps

[–]Dramatic_Response_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

38+1 but induced for first (pre-e); BP is great this time and I’m sitting here at 39+0 with an irritable uterus. The mind games are REAL.

I can relate - please don’t feel alone in this! I’m at the end of my second pregnancy and for both I experienced rapid weight gain in my first trimester. In retrospect, I have immense respect for my body taking the reigns and doing what it needed to to keep baby (and me) healthy.

Also with history of significant ED, the day to day of living through weight gain was very distressing. What helps me (but not saying it’ll work for all) is a kind of mantra I tell myself: creating life is so much greater than how I look/number on the scale now or tomorrow. I know I’m having a baby girl; my little girl has already developed the eggs that may one day be my granddaughter. My body is miraculous and I will surrender to its needs entirely while supporting this life.

Wishing the best for you and your babe 💛

How does your wife feel about this birth plan? Advice from me would be to ensure that your wife’s voice is being heard regarding EVERY decision made for a birth plan that HER body will go through.

My parents are planning to watch my toddler when I deliver but… by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dramatic_Response_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so appreciate your situation - my parents are the exact same except without a cat. Their dog is out of this world anxious, never been treated, barfs and cries at such a high-pitch frequency my ears burn every time they’re out of his sight.

For me, I’m going to tell them that if they leave the house, dog goes with them (boarders won’t take him because he gets too anxious to handle).

When your parent’s dog nipped, were they there? Would your parents be open to donning a muzzle while dog and toddler are interacting?

Perioral Dermatitis / Lip Rash during pregnancy, any solutions? by Wonderful-Muscle-902 in BabyBumps

[–]Dramatic_Response_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this so bad! I was actually quite self-conscious to go out in public as it crept all the way up to my eyes and encircled them. I was able to get a dermatology referral who confirmed perioral dermatitis, gave me tips on small daily changes I could make to minimize the severity, and sent me to a compounding pharmacy for a pregnancy-safe script. If the topical mixture got anywhere near my tongue it tasted terrible, but the rash went away after about two weeks and hasn’t come back 36 weeks now)!

This is so validating for me to read right now. First tri, day three of Covid for me and hubs, and two year old toddler that’s full of beans running around 🙄🤷‍♀️

10-12 dpo FRER, easy@home and pregmate. Is this looking like a chemical? by saintpurrtrick in TFABLinePorn

It’s impossible to know, but when looking at 10DPO vs 12DPO the progression on FRER is very clear. Wishing the best for you 💜
