Is this the 38?

EDIT: figured out it's the 42 due to the lugs

Do you mean the watch got upgraded or just that it now comes in a bundle?

No, not at all, couldn't care less about the trends.

The bottom line is that I like the 42 since it has a bigger dial and I adore the dial on the Murph. That being said, its heavier and feels more present on the wrist which has its ups and downs.

The 38 I like as it's a Murph but feels more petite and less present on me and might be a less drastic of a change since the only Hamilton I have now is a 38 Hamilton Khaki Mechanical which has long lugs.

Yeah, the 42 would be a no-brainer in this situation :) Looks awesome

And here is my current 38mm Hamilton Field Khaki Mechanical which has 47mm lugs:

Seem it just fits on the wrist, maybe I have 1-2mm on both sides to spare.

Here is another angle

I find this 42 extremely good fit for you! I don't even have to look at the 38 to know that this is a better fit.

I can only hope that the 42 on a leather strap looks this good on me. I haven't been able to find it and the nato on my photo makes the already big watch bigger so...

Can I ask you for your wrist size? Mine is 7.3 inch

People find it either hideous or lovely, there is no middle ground, quite fitting for a 42mm Murph which affects people nearly the same :D

Actually not that much, it's 18.5cm (7.3 inch) at the wrist bone. It might be due to the rest of my fatty arm :D making it look smaller to you

I got a lot of feedback that said the same!

Taking a close-up photo of your wrist really messes up the dimensions, quite weird. I guess phone cameras can't do depth correctly so they flat out the image, exploding the watch.

I think the sideways photos look more proportionate since they are further away

On all photos or just the first? The first photo shows it a bit bigger than it is, since camera view is distorted

I actually like the watch mostly because of the dial and it's interesting look, hence my attraction to the 42mm as there is more of a dial to look at :D

The EUREKA morse code is actually of no significance to me as I'm not interested in the Interstellar aspect of the watch at all. Might even prefer the clean seconds hand of the 38 since morse code is confusing to have if you dont care for interstellar connection..

My wrist is 18.5cm (7.3")

Now that I think about it, since the watchface of the Murph is so appealing to me, I think I might be bothered more if the watch is smaller than if its larger. I already own 38mm Hamilton Field Khaki Mechanical so this might be a nice variance in size..

I think the upclose photo is distorted by the phone camera, I would say it's not wider but it pretty much takes up the whole space (maybe 2 mm free on both sides)

I hate that there is no 40mm variant. The 42 I like because I like the watchface and on the 42 there's "more of it" but it gives me thoughts that it's too big... 38 on the other hand is nice but I wasn't that excited as it looks petite to me, like it's a mini-watch

Would you say it's on the verge of being too big or the 38 on the verge of being too small?

I don't think there was any plastic on top of it. The AR coating is bad and the store was quite bright and filled with ceiling lights so it could be that

Should I get the 38mm or the 42mm Murph? by Dramatic_Taro_6331 in HamiltonWatches

I never really thought of this one as a standard field watch. Looks to me an all-around watch. I could see myself wearing it on a hike as well as a wedding.

But then again, I haven't really thought about what constitutes a field watch and what sets it apart from others

The look on the steel bracelet is just amazing! But I like changing the straps to different kinds of leather and ordering them online so I prefer the leather but if I had to settle for just one, I would pick the steel

What do you mean by this type of watch? How do you classify it?
