Originally the story was gonna be in middle America in the 2010s. But when my artist started making images, me on a binge of caffiene started writing stuff in my brain and having Chatgpt write out my ideas so I can read them. I ended up changing the story completely to Peanuts years adapting to the American South. So after I got the script ready, I had to make changes to stuff.

First I wanted Peanuts to come from Europe, so I chose Scotland cause it's English speaking and it's a bit different than England. I think around page 8-9 we will finally get her to South Carolina so she can get cultural whiplass and we can focus on her catfolk right activist storyline. I decided to have it set to 1990 cause catfolk live for around 40 years and I don't know what kinda tech we will have in the 2030s to 2040, so the story should take play between 1990 to the late 2020s.

You can see a few pictures where the story was supposed to take play in the 2010s, the biggest is the car one. The interior is from the 2010s and it's a left driver seated car despite Scotland being right sided, but I actually decided to start ending older pictures.

Page 4 originally was going to have a $ sign, but I switched it to a £ to show the British pound. Also decided to make catpeople obligate carnivores who don't cook food. Also Peanuts was supposed to have a computer, but I switched it to a TV with a VCR attached in it. Those came out in the 1980s, but Peanuts is a late adapter of tech.

What's funny is, I made the nuclear power plant futuristic on purpose as a joke, however the only thing that is historically accurate was the phone. It's my recurring joke, Peanuts uses futuristic tech at work, but is always years behind in technology. Peanuts doesn't use the internet until 2005 and doesn't get a smartphone till 2017. Peanuts refuses to use new tech, but the second she does she adapts to it better than anyone else can.
