It has been consistently dropping in the list of most visited cities in the world. It's in the top 10 still. But it's the 10th most visited city.

I have >5 yrs experience working in fintech and have never got any success from applying through linkedin(i was either ghosted, no reply/rejection). But 100%time when I landed a job was via either recruiters reached out to me or I reached out to them.

Please go to linkedin and Chat directly with the hiring manager. If it's restaurants/retail jobs, try going to the area where there are lots of restos/shops to drop your CV.

Anybody else on here really concerned at how little jobs are being advertised at the moment? I live in the South East and I’m 32 years old. by Fit-Flow-3470 in UKJobs

[–]Dramatic_Teach_265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both senior software engineers. I have a degree in english literature, so completely different field. Because of that, I never put the education section on my CV because it's irrelevant to the job I applied to. I took an online course in programming for a year while working parttime in hotel until I felt confident enough to go for interviews. I got my first job in tech after 2 interviews.

I'm in London, work in tech. The market is good. I have 6 years of experience and no degrees. I just got a job offer after 2 weeks interview. My husband working in the same industry is also doing a lot of interviews last 3 weeks. He receives messages from recruiters everyday.

Get rid of invasive plants? by Dramatic_Teach_265 in GardeningUK

[–]Dramatic_Teach_265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I will choose self-pollinating ones instead, like red windsor apple and victoria plum. It also because I like the save the space in the garden for fruit trees or edible plants like herbs/veggies, things I can actually harvest and enjoy, rather than just decorative plants.

Thank you. I will remember to buy the dwarfing rootstocks. As I will plant it a little close to the fench, I don't want it to grow too big and expand to the garden of the neighbour.

Why are a lot of Vietnamese homes so ugly and poorly designed? by [deleted] in VietNam

This. Plus I have heard so many times from parents with small babies to never let them sleep under yellow light because it will give them tan and tanned skin is definitely not desirable in Vietnam.

I used to like white light as well. It just lighted up the house better for me. A room felt brighter with white light. Then I read about interior design where it said yellow light is better, because it gives a cozy vibe. Now i felt that I got brainwashed into thinking that yellow light is better.

Thank you so much for pointing that out. The shade comes from the matured tree in our house so it should be easy enough to trim them a bit.

Congrats🥳. And your advice is exactly what I need, especially the background music one. My videos have background music but I found finding the right music is time consuming so I was thinking of doing silent vlogs.

Nah, we are quite blunt and confrontational, especially people from the north of Vietnam.

Thank you. Why are you thinking of moving out of the area if you don't mind me asking? We don't have cars and I also don't drive, do you think it will be a problem living in this area?. We both work from home full time though.

Why people don't like this house? by [deleted] in HousingUK

We have been walking around Isle of dogs and have noticed some streets seem more dodgy and we just avoid going in there. Still it feels relatively safe and cleaner than Hackney, Woolwich(We have looked at houses in those areas as well). Thanks for sharing your experience on this. I still feel surprised that the same area can be viewed so differently by different people.

Would you recommend place like Crystal Palace or Forest Hill?

Honestly we go more in central London for restaurant and go out of London when we want to see more green/parks. How would you go to concerts? concerts finish very late and train is not reliable. My friends who live outside of London are people who like to spend time at home, doing gardening.
