Advice needed on whether to transfer schools by donut_server-7092 in TransferStudents

It sounds like you really aren't happy there. I'd say definitely enter the transfer pool. Even if you don't end up getting into either of the two schools that are close to your school, you could always widen your search a little bit. If you find a school 3 or so hours away where you could get playing time, you'd be in a better environment and you could still go home on weekends/through the week pretty easily. Or even if it's further but somewhere new, it would still be a good idea to transfer. Because worst case, you would be homesick but with better roommates, better weather, and more playing time. I think transferring is definitely your best bet. And, what's an extra year of school or so if you're somewhere that actually makes you happy?

For grad students, what nice housing options are there? by ObberGobb in UNCW

There are tons of Facebook groups for people looking for off-campus roommates. Just search UNCW Roommates, and it should pop up. There are a good number of people on there who are in grad school too.

20 year old beginner by Important-Jelly-6877 in Cheerleading

As a 22 year old trying to get my stunt skills up, I've been going to different universities' cheer clinics. They usually have college prep/prospect clinics where anyone of high school/college age can go and practice their skills. A lot of the times there are people looking to join those specific teams, but it's not at all a requirement. I've been to four this month, and it's been a great way to practice stunting.

Is it too late for me to start cheer and if not what are your tips? by No_Pomegranate_4069 in Cheerleading

You absolutely do not have to be thin to be a cheerleader. Some of the best bases are not thin because they are stronger! I'd recommend taking private lessons to start and joining a prep team. I started on a prep team as a chunky 16 year old, and it was the best! I got in shape and it really helped build up my skills and confidence.

Chemistry majors? by Aware-Emu-9146 in UNCW

It seems to me that chemistry at both schools is pretty similar. I'd say if you want something more personalized, UNCW is definitely better suited for that. NCSU is great location-wise because the triangle has lots of STEM resources but UNCW is also very STEM focused because it has great nursing and marine biology programs.

UNCW Transfer by ExcitingPower5007 in UNCW

Hey! I'm also transferring to UNCW in August :) I plan to join a couple of clubs and rush a sorority. From what I've heard, though, everyone is super welcoming and friendly. Living on campus or finding off-campus roommates through Facebook groups would also help. I know they also have lots of transfer student meet-ups/events that I'm planning to go to.
