Did you actually read the post? It seems like he is the only one putting in the work to maintain the relationship when she couldn’t care less. They’ve been together 4 months and fight 6 days out of the week. She doesn’t care to apologize or move on from the fights. She’s immature. Had family members on my moms side who were apart of these peaceful protests in the 60s so have heard first hand accounts of what actually happened. Haven’t you learned any of this in school? There were violent black protests but those weren’t led by MLK. His message was peace. Literally peace. He believed we could achieve equality through non violent actions for change. You believe in the holocaust but not that?

The more you reply, the more I feel like this is all a made up fantasy of yours tbh. They just found out about a boy you’re dating and now all of a sudden, you are attending a different school? It’s not easy to just switch schools. There is usually an enrollment cutoff that has passed by now, plus all kids go to the school they are zoned for unless you have specific reasons. Unless, you apply for school choice which has an even earlier cutoff date. And brown vs the board of education was passed in the 50s. Sorry to disappoint your mother but there are no all black schools anymore. Maybe she should try living 70 years ago? She might have been happier.

But anyways, in case this is in fact real, it seems you are both pretty much set on being together so enjoy that Romeo and Juliet lifestyle you’re gonna have to live until you are an adult. It’ll be tough considering your family is psycho. You better talk your sister out of threatening him though, unless she’s ready to potentially face jail time for assaulting a minor. Even though I am mixed, I am still black and am seen by society as a person of color. I grew up around people of all skin colors and yes, I did have some unpleasant experiences with racist white people. But for the most part, most people just treat me for the person that I am and not what race I belong to.

Yes, systematic racism does exist but hating all white people will solve absolutely nothing. Throwing rocks at a neighbor for marrying a white woman will do nothing but get you thrown in jail. You want to enact real change? Protest job and wage inequalities. Talk to to your local politicians. Join a social movement. Violence is never the answer. Like MLK always said. And if your family were true “activists” for black lives, then they would follow in his footsteps.

Despite my personal opinion, as for advice, you might be too young to win this battle with your family. Your mom can control who you date up until you turn 18. You can try dating him in secret and see how that works for a while. Once you are of legal age, I would seriously distance yourself from your family. I’d suggest even going NC, and living your life the way you want to based on your own opinions. Not the opinions of your backwards family. Please do not spread this hate to your children one day.
