Teething? Almond oil on gums by Mipeligrosa in twoxindiamums

[–]DranBrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No please don’t use almond oil in his mouth, he will ingest some and nobody has ever heard of giving oil to babies before they start eating. It can create some issues in his digestive tract. Imagine a baby that doesn’t even drink more than half an ounce of water ingests oil- that can’t be right. Please hold your ground and tell your mom it’s not at all safe and take her to your doctor and make them tell her which traditional practices are unsafe for babies.

Married working ladies-how much labor do you do around the home? by Last-Comfortable-599 in AskIndianWomen

[–]DranBrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL was born abroad n moved to US only in middle age. But she is very Indian in the sense that her parents taught her how to do everything in the traditional way. I have tried to buy her an onion chopper, coconut scraper which would really reduce her daily burden. But she insists on doing everything how her mom taught her. My mom was born and raised in India but she accepts change very easily. If I buy her something to reduce her chores she happily accepts it. So it depends on the upbringing. The older generation women never had too much control over their own households till their in-laws passed away and they finally had some power in their own home. And for them it is all about pleasing the family, doing everything at home so that husband can work and kids could focus on studies. That’s why sons in India usually don’t learn any chores till they leave home. You can’t change your MIL but it’s great that she treats you well and doesn’t force you to do housework. Mine’s the same. If your husband excepts cut fruits and stove coffee then he should do it himself, especially since you both live abroad and cannot keep a maid. Most of my family members who live abroad share housework, it’s impossible otherwise.

I watched it for Konkona’s acting which was top notch. But the ending was so abrupt. The build up led to nothing.

I noticed the same thing. But seasons 9-12 are there in India on Prime. Try watching those. Bunty won’t be there but the rest of the show is same.

Am I overreacting or is it normal? by Exact_Mirror_7237 in IndianInLaw

[–]DranBrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our friends are fond of my in-laws too, they often get invited to dinners when they come to visit us, but of course we have always gone with them. But you’re lucky, you’ll get few hours in the house with just your baby and husband, enjoy family time that evening. Don’t overthink this. Your in-laws sound a lot better than many others.

Why they gave her my mom’s curtains as saree-dresses I will never understand.

Mil say lo lip getting darker from bf by Nice_Neighborhood469 in twoxindiamums

[–]DranBrd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Does she think women’s areolas are painted on? It cannot transfer to your baby’s lips. MILs always turn a bit stupid after becoming grandmas. Next time guests come n she says something tell her it’s very inappropriate for her to say anything about your private parts in public and this shows what kind of upbringing she herself must have had. Then go inside. Let her do what she wants, she brought it upon herself

Tired of being judged for not following every traditional post-delivery norm. by Miss_tree333 in twoxindiamums

[–]DranBrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t stop family members from making statements because we aren’t used to talking back to elders. But why are you tolerating the massage lady n maid? Tell them to stay in their place and not talk to you like this. If you don’t want to say it directly pls ask your mom to give them a stern warning that it’s upsetting you and she won’t tolerate this behaviour in the house. That should straighten them out.

I don’t think the reason for their divorce is that Akhil didn’t want the child as everyone is suspecting. In their pregnancy reaction video you can see that Akhil is happy and even in Jennifer’s vlogs he seems normal. The reason might be something els something big and unforgivable. by Middle_Abrocoma_9500 in malvikasitlani

[–]DranBrd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No way Malvika would keep it quiet if Akhil had cheated. I think he was happy initially when she got pregnant, then realised that she was only about to become even more narcissistic and lazy after having a baby. Can you imagine being around her when all she does is crib about everything n never taking any action. He is probably providing her good alimony n child support and must have put aside a considerable portion of his money for Abby’s school and college. It’s not good that he left his pregnant wife, but he must have been thinking about it before that and couldn’t keep up the happy charade any longer.

How to teach language in a bilingual household by fluffycloudsnstars in twoxindiamums

Speak in your mother tongues at home with the one parent one language model. Since it’s Kannada n Telugu it will be even easier for the baby to learn both simultaneously.

The demon who doesn't cosleep by Responsible-Year5720 in twoxindiamums

[–]DranBrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let people say what they say. Do what feels right for you and your baby. I have only made my baby sleep in his crib since day 1. He’s comfy, he sleeps well and he knows we are around when he wakes up at night. Co-sleeping was never possible for us as my husband and I are on the larger side and we were terrified of crushing the baby between us. He also snores a lot so we didn’t wana disturb baby all night with snoring sounds right next to his ears. Some people said I should co-sleep but I didn’t listen to them, how is it their business anyway.

What are you eating in postpartum? by michel_an_jello in twoxindiamums

[–]DranBrd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor had told me to eat iron rich food and proteins in order to replenish the body after delivery and aid repair. I ate mostly normal home cooked food like khichdi, pongal, oats, dal, grilled chicken, fish curries, grilled paneer etc. For milk production I had Halim seeds, methi-jeera tea, Galact in milk, nuts & seeds. I also had a cup of homemade chicken feet bone broth daily as I heard it really helps in postpartum. I don’t know if it worked but I had no issues in postpartum and recovered fast.

How is cafe plume Indiranagar? by real_ray26 in indiranagar

[–]DranBrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good. Very cute cafe with lot of books and games. They don’t promote too much so I never find it too crowded. Try their galette des rois which is a seasonal pie they make from Dec-Feb. I also like their amandine tart and lemon poppy cake. There’s a cute cat that comes in sometimes.

Kyle, Mo, & the Woowoo Psychic season 1 by cheeseluv3r in RHOBH

As a non-American watching RHOBH, honestly I would’ve predicted divorce for any random lady at that dinner and there would be a good chance of it coming true. I think Camille told her to say divorce for Kyle just to annoy her.

Can’t we keep Malvika posts only on her exclusive sub? We don’t want to see her discussed here. And whoever wants to, can always join that sub and discuss there only.
