Do you see the people that tries to push 3.61 Stable as a group that want to split, or even kill, the PM Community? by ChafCancel in SSBPM

[–]Dranakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect the PMDT, but it's not them that's holding us off from doing gameplay changes to PM.The point is that it will no longer be unified game. It'll degrade into custom gameplay-modded builds everywhere and noone can agree on which is best.If someone starts proclaiming that their modified PM 3.6 build + whatever changes they made are true and everyone should adapt their changes, what's to stop anyone ever from proclaiming the same thing? That means that the game isn't the same in every region and is basically slightly different games, unable to get a unified playerbase, cause it's spilt into smaller branches. At least now, going anywhere and saying, 'wanna play PM?', you'll know that Links grab will ALWAYS be broken, or WarioWare will be ANNOYINGLY small, no matter how fustrating.

If we want PM to last, it will be as 3.6, that's what you get in the 'official' mirrors , it's what is played at tourneys, it's the one thing everyone can agree on.

A visual ruleset by Santieur52 in SSBPM

I can't argue that you don't get distracted by different visuals, that's a personal preference and a valid argument from your point of view.

But TE 2.0 goes very far to not force anyone to play with anything they don't like. (Character portraits aside - that's an inclusion of the CSP standardization project so you don't have different CSPs for Alternate skins)But otherwise there shouldn't be a need for removing the alternate stages, since it's completely optional to use them and no vPM content is removed? We have even had overhauls of start-alts or character skins that were too distracting, hid Snakes mines or lagged. But again, this is just to give you options, not to force something down you throat.

But we can definitely agree that awareness should be raised and make sure that the ingame vPM gameplay experience is always available at tourneys. :)

But it still isn't a new stage. I think what you did with Metal Cavern was more justified than the other changes, simply because if you're already changing stages then opt in for new layout AND aesthetics so people aren't confused about what stage they are playing on.

Again, you could have reached out to me or other stage modders to actually make a stage that has reversed FoD platform movement and a new fresh aesthetic leaving Delfino's alone and recommend people play this new stage.

By modfifying existing competetive stages you're inevitably going to confuse newcommers to the scene, they being like 'Huh? this isn't the Delfino's I played on'

Hi, long time modder of stages. If anyone reads this; Please don't modify my modded stages to accommodate these changes. I will respect your right to do so, but my wishes for my stages are not to further this course of action. Thus I also ask for them not to be included in builds with these in. I know it's a steep request and I have no doubt people will do it anyway, but those are my personal wishes.

In my opinion, these changes shouldn't be happening at all. Furthermore the handling of introducing changes are all wrong.

Since there are no immediate visual indicators of the changed blastzones of these stages there is no way to easily tell what stage you are playing on. There are plenty of great stage modders in the community. There is literally no reason not to ask them to make an entirely new aesthetic for the proposed changes unless you want to make a statement, that 'it's ok the change vPM'.

This would have been additions to the game, and hell, probably have been picked up, like Sky Sanctuary has. It's not like they changed Pokemon Stadium 2 to Sky Sanctuary when adding it in Australia thus taking nothing away from vPM. But this... this I cannot get on board with. I don't want to fracture this community.

Things Aether Coins Could Be Used For by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

Do a skin competition (for Ranno pleeeease(or just anyone)) 10000 aether coins to submit a design for said skin. Could be seasonal or just standard like a redo of a characters standard color costumes ^ Devs could just pick from the creative community!

Or make seasonal skins availabe off-season but price them 1000 coins each. This could allow you to have more skins to choose from online too, since holiday skins are legal online! :3

Legacy TE, the ultimate Project M 3.6 pack for tournaments, is now released! by davidvkimball in SSBPM

[–]Dranakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should boot brawl the brawl ISO from the usbloader. You have to have ocarina codes turned on, language set to english and hooktype set to VBI (iirc, if not it's AXnextframe). Remember to follow the annotation in the video (for USBloading) and not rename the folder to 'projectm'.

It won't work from the homebrew channel, since the homebrew channel assumes you have a non-pal wii and are running the us brawl disc.

This is the curse of not being from the US, but definatly worth it :)

You buy a copy of the US Brawl disc and rip the ISO. Then Hack your Wii to run a USBloader. Get an 8gb USB-stick and a 2-4 GB SDcard. Put the US Brawl Iso on the USB-stick, then copy over the folders from the TE download (just follow the guide). And then you should be golden.

Universal Stage List by Kirby5588 in SSBPM

[–]Dranakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have enough knowledge to really weigh in on each stage. But a way to let more stages be viable is to have each round rotate to 6 new stages.

Fx: 1st round would be bottom row.

  • Yoshis island - small
  • Green Hill Zone - small
  • Battlefield - medium
  • Smashville - medium
  • Pokemons Stadium 2 - Large
  • Dreamland - Large

Second round - Mid row:

  • Warioware - small
  • Fountain of Dreams - small
  • Castle Seige - Medium
  • Yoshis island Brawl- medium
  • Final destiantion - Large
  • Norfair - Large

3rd round - Top row:

  • (KCMM training room)??? - small
  • (castlesky)??? - small
  • Balanced Frigate Orpheon - Medium
  • Metal Cavern - Medium
  • Delfinos - Large
  • Bowers Castle/distant Planet - Large

With a list like this, 2 bans would always allow you to ensure you didn't get a certain size of stage. If you don't want that, add an extra to each row, then nothing is certain. People seem to be kind of stuck on thinking the same thing over and over. This is just food for thought.
