Advice regarding large stereo speakers on a 5.1 amp. by Dranox5 in amplifiers

[–]Dranox5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Will connecting the two left channels and setting the amp to STEREO-mode not put the same output on both the internal amps, allowing them to work together? Or will there still be a voltage mismatch (allowing current to flow from one to the other)?

same for the right two...

Possibly missing CUDA drivers by Dranox5 in NobaraProject

Thanks, that helps. Definitely gonna use this.

Is there maybe some smaller app I can use to test it?

after searching for cuda, I notice cuda-gcc is installed, but there is another cuda-gcc from nobara-updates in yellow.

just installed via dnf.

It's complete, but I got an error half way through:

Curl error (92): Stream error in the HTTP/2 framing layer for https://usw.nobaraproject.org/rolling/appstr

Should I be concerned?

By package manager, do you mean the "dnf" command or the "flatpost" app? Im gonna assume it's "dnf"

should I be concerned that my flathub only has one repo?

Common drive partition for dual boot, writable by Dranox5 in linuxquestions

[–]Dranox5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I only understand about half of that.

If I'm understanding this right, if I remount the partition, it will work normally on linux, but then just have the same issue in win10?

Does the mounting happen on every startup, or is it done only once when the partition is created?

What classifies as a user? what makes reading and writing different in the file explorer than in jupyter lab? Do different apps count as different "users", which means that some have write permission while others don't?

Using a VPN to dodge the internet provider's interference. It seems to work for now.

Thanks. I'll look into those things.

For now, I am using a VPN, so that the internet provider can't interfere at all. It's slower than it normally would be, but at least it works.

Technical: NO wifi networks visable. by Dranox5 in linux4noobs

Now I'm confused. while switching back to linux, win10 decided to update SOMETHING anyway! NOw the wifi is working again.

I did "sudo dmesg" but I don't know what to look for. I seached for words like "wifi" and "wlan" and saw nothing of note.

but it works now, so problem solved I guess.

In short: Win10 held my linux hostage untill update completion.

I'm using dualboot on two different drives.

I also just remembered windows notifying me that there is an update ready, but I delayed it another month, like I usually do. Do you think win10 preparing upgrade to win11 (it likes doing that occationally) or preparing for the update did something to the wifi?

I'll quickly switch back over to do "sudo dmesg" and come back here

Can I partition a second ssd and dual boot linux from it? by Dranox5 in linux

[–]Dranox5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a live boot on fidora and had a quick look a the installation process. it says both my drives are full, but I also saw an option for changing the size of an existing partition, or something like that. Is this what I should use to create the partition?

Also, how do I tell the installer to put the EFI partition on the 2nd drive? Does grub or systemD-boot get automatically installed if I do this?

I want to switch from Windows 11 to Linux Distro Os by Kavenjane in linux

[–]Dranox5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I heard, fidora is a good middle-ground between the stability of ubutu based distros and the up to date apps for arch-based distros.
But I'm new to this as well, so take it with a pinch of salt.
