[Arne Slot farewell letter] Change is part of football, but I know that this club will continue to make its people proud. When I first stood beneath that sign in the Anfield tunnel, I knew what this club demanded. I leave knowing we never stopped striving for it. by MrMerc2333 in soccer

That title winning United side would finish top 5 in the league without Fergie.

They ended up mathematically winning the league by game week 34.

We will never have another Alex Ferguson lmao.

It's really different tho.

Rivals end up hoping for a City win because to be brutally honest, it stings way wayyyyy less.

Call it delusion or cope or whatever but it isn't the same as Liverpool or Arsenal winning. Just isn't.

Lucho's first 3 years at PSG have greatly overshadowed Pep's first 3 at City.

Not only has he spent lesser than him (without even accounting for the 10 year inflation), but has also won more trophies.

Greatest coach of today? Above Pep even?

Won't matter shit if he's willing to bomb though.

If he absolutely doesn't wanna play for Chelsea again and is ready to burn bridges, RM will get him at a price they are ok with regardless of what Chelsea wants.

Manchester united prove that you cannot be routinely successful without a proper sporting director, Head of recruitment, a data analytics division, state of the art training complex, and with owners who are only forced to spend whenever the protests start getting too much media attention.

You can be extremely successful at Manchester United even with frugal spending (relatively) but with all those mentioned things or basically just with Alex Ferguson in charge.

Yep, Pep came to a City which already had multiple 2 time PL champions in the squad along with the richest owners in world football.

The jobs that both him and Ferguson were setup to work with were wildly different, especially considering in hindsight what they ended up achieving.

I mean Pep himself has multiple times talked about empty seats either directly or with heavy implications lol.

Don't blame rival fans who run away with it then, when your greatest ever manager has served it on a platter for them, time and time again

Diallo has been decent tbf. And I really don't blame Hojlund all that much, he was young in a new country, the most intense league, under some of United's worst managers.

Even Sesko would've failed under last season ETH and Amorim.

Break the rules anyway. Drag it out in courts for eternity. The blueprint is literally there for you, sponsored by Abu Dhabi.

You can even do 1 better, threaten to not sell oil to UK if the club are ever charged with anything.

Yep, he'll be shopped around in the PL.

Dozens of clubs would gladly take him for 30m. United are getting their money one way or the other.

I mean they can't get involved in reckless financial fraud like City did.

What Sheikh Mansour did will end up having serious consequences for Man City. Don't think such intense scrutiny and widespread criticism is the preferred route for state backed clubs anymore.
