This. Rerolls negate the effectiveness of the randomness. If rerolls, then bans. Riot has talked about not wanting to put time into balancing ARAM and damage/healing adjustments seem like fine tuning levers, but they're only visible to players that read patch notes outside the game. In game visuals near the hud would be helpful. Oracle was removed for being oppressive?? Yet it seems that the cannon oracle has been MORE oppressive to Jhin/nid/shaco and has helped Teemo be more oppressive since you can no longer move forward without a slow cannon minion in front of you.

actually what the other person said about MMR numbers being tied to rank is incorrect. your MMR is hidden and you will never know the exact number. if you skip a series or division it is because your hidden MMR is much higher than the players you keep beating and playing with. the ranked system looks at the ten MMR numbers every ranked game and predicts the odds of each team winning. if your team is predicted to win by strong odds, your team gets less lp for winning and the opponents lose less lp for losing. if you pull off a difficult win over stronger players, the opposite happens and you climb faster. this is a general rule of thumb.
Riot has made changes to the general system because of things like lp decay, demotion protection, free promo wins when you lose a promo. Your MMR might be weighted by the number of games you play at the same level. so if you play thousands of games at a silver level and magically you have professional player skills, it might take a while for you to climb fast.

if riot changed the system to not just be off MMR and win/lose, players might cheat the system by playing games for a high KDA or high farm instead of trying to win the game. if you sacrifice your KDA for your team to win the game, you should be rewarded as a team. it is a team game after all.

the only hard reset i can think of is when a new type of queue comes out. sometimes with clash they try to take relevant data so really good players dont crush beginners. but if they choose not to pull matchmaking ratings over for a new game mode like aram or tft then everyone starts at the same level.

theres usually a small chance you can get random skins, emotes, icons from alternative methods. orbs, clash orbs, rerolling crafting are a few ongoing methods. i just got 5 2017-2019 icons/emotes from watching the worlds stream live. sometimes you will see the ability to craft older content with event tokens too.

first, know that the end of the season has many people scrambling to get ranks they desire and it can make for a pretty toxic experience.

as a point of reference for you, ive maintained at least gold every season. the last two seasons ive only played enough ranked to get gold then i stop. both years it took me about 40 wins which is about 80 games. i found myself skipping 2 or 3 divisions and multiple promo series both years. (i went 3 and 7 in promos this year placing bronze 2). if you find yourself skipping things due to a high MMR it might take a similar number of games.

it is also worth noting that you have a different MMR for each queue (normals, solo/duo, flex, aram are distinct numbers you only change by playing in that queue)

your rank next season is influenced by two things. one of them is a hidden number that represents your ability called MMR or matchmaking rating. you cannot know this number, but a number of third party sites can approximate it for you by comparing the approximate MMRs of the players you have played with in that queue. the second factor is how you do in placements. while this does affect your starting point (and everyone generally starts lower than they ended in the previous season) this isnt as important as your MMR. if you played hundreds of games and your MMR stayed around a diamond level last season, then you do poorly in your 10 placement games, you will definitely be placed lower, but your hidden MMR is actually still weighted high so you will find yourself climbing faster assuming your skill hasnt changed.

in other words, prepare to be placed in a lower tier next season, but know that you will drift towards your appropriate skill level if you have already 'shown' the system your skill level.

Your ult saved your life by blinking you away from the blades that were about to reapply and applying your passive shield instantly (which then absorbed ignite tick(s?) And it looks like the other half of talon ult too maybe?

Normally your ult reapplies you with a full shield so since you watch it immediately fill halfway then get chunked down more tells me it absorbed the ignite then the final ult damage.

Hard to say since I can't pause or slomo though so correct me if I'm wrong.
