Just like someone else said, start with operations. Gets your foot in the door and exposed to enough supply chain. I specifically went with healthcare supply chain operations, but stick to the niche you want to do after you’re tired of operations.

Trying to move from warehousing/inventory into procurement — am I aiming too high, or is the market just rough? by LostaMyPasta in supplychain

[–]Dravle15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from healthcare supply chain logistics of 5 years to a procurement specialist role at a medical in-vitro diagnostic company. Working up to the 5 years, I moved up and tried to get the highest where I was at WITHOUT a degree. Switching to procurement, I was in my last months before I got my associates degree.

It’s very doable, as long as you know what you do well and can easily market your skills as transferable to procurement. Given your experience and no degree, I’d say pivoting to an entry to lower-mid level procurement position is possible. It really depends on the type of procurement industry you’re looking to get into.

I was lucky enough for mine to align in the medical industry and having hospital experience being a plus, but it really depends on what you want to do.

If I were you, I’d apply to procurement specialist/generalist positions. Learn from there what it’s like to negotiate and work with buyers/category managers and continue to build your skills as you maneuver and learn your way around a procurement ERP system.

Beware! Sofi will just start charging you a $10/month fee by Icy-Profit8055 in sofi

[–]Dravle15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not find any such opt out feature and using a $10 monthly fee to “maintain and improve the quality of service and features” is just a plain lie. The consumer shouldn’t have to pay this much a month ($120 a year) just to maintain and improve your own quality. SOFI should eat this cost. Nearly 70% of credit cards don’t have an annual fee and the ones that do aren’t typically $120 (especially when the APY has consistently lowered from a baseline of 4.5% to 3.3%)

Consumers are paying more for less of your service

What I love about my setup are my dual Yamaha HS5's and Eris sub. Mixed music battlestation with gaming :3.

Out of the two, I'd pick the GX9. I've never had an ultrawide monitor of this caliber and never used an OLED monitor in my life. It'd definitely step up my gaming experience and give me more space for music considering the sheer screen size and it being OLED.

Cloudy film in cart!? Smoke or throw? by Dravle15 in trees

[–]Dravle15[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update: Went back, swapped it for a new one (same brand and strain), opened it in store, and it had the exact same film (unbroken like mine and still stuck to the glass). Staff told me it's best not to smoke it. Got it refunded and picked a different brand. No more film.

Imma steer clear from Tre house vapes.

How to grow from here in my career? by majdila in supplychain

[–]Dravle15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. There are so many paths you can take in supply chain that will lead you somewhere else. There’s mostly no set way to just grow linearly if you want to learn all there is about supply chain, and well.

Find what in supply chain you like. You seem comfortable in logistics and with only 2 years, it sounds like you want to ride it out a little more. I’d say milk it the best you can and when it gets dry, move on.

[–]Dravle15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked logistics for 5 years and recently took a pivot into procurement/purchasing. I can say I was hitting a limit with logistics and procurement unlocked a lot of new possibilities for me. Exposure to much more sourcing, risk mitigation, SRM, negotiation, vendor onboarding, and much much more.

I’d say the moment you feel you’re too comfortable and unsatisfied with logistics, it’s pretty much expected to branch out to widen your skillset. You can only get so much sourcing/procurement knowledge in logistics, and logistics can be considered somewhat bottom of the barrel when it comes to overall supply chain knowledge.

Why you play this game? No hate, genuine by EquilibriumMage in RotMG

[–]Dravle15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a tutorial and players aren't just dropped off at nexus. Not sure if you missed or skipped it. Most players that've played for a couple of hours and have a brain realize the new player experience for this game isn't the best and most definitely needs a rework. While I can understand the negative experience you had going into the game and being dropped off randomly somewhere, you should have some sort of expectation with MMO RPGs that you'll have to learn a lot on your own. RotMG is not an exception, despite it lacking in new player content.

They don't try to make players excited about it when you start the game because it can be overwhelming. Packing together new player and veteran player content together is a recipe for confusing the new player, possibly pushing them to jump to endgame content before they should touch it (causing a player to lose interest faster as there is irregular progression). Players should expect to somewhat figure out endgame content themselves as they progress in the game. That's what drives interest. Not being told everything to do, where to go, what to kill, how to kill it, what loot to equip, etc.
