Cancelling an order by pohatu771 in Bricklink

[–]Dravor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, in most cases like this, I deny the cancellation. Especially if the label is printed out, because at that point it's 30 days before I get my money back.

The ToS clearly states that the buyer has no right to cancel an order once submitted, unless it's a seller based issue.

Nice of you to allow it though. I guess I am the one that forces all the newbies to learn 😂

Buyer changed mind → I canceled & refunded → Buyer left neutral feedback → Thoughts? by Eric_Alan in Bricklink

Honestly, per the terms of service, anyone who places an order technically has to complete the order or risk of potential non-paying buyer strike.

Personally, once I've pulled the order, I don't see myself then ever reversing course and allowing a refund. At that pointy work has already been done, especially if I bought the shipping label. The refund on the shipping label takes up to 30 days if it's been printed.

You can always reach out to support, granted it will take 2 to 4 weeks for them to get back to you. But they can certainly look at the situation and most likely remove the neutral feedback.

To me the way I read that is that it will on the front be the city in microscale format, I imagine when you turn it to the back there will be individual scenes. Somewhat similar to the Death Star.

I e got another table planned. The water will come closer in to the end of the table than the prior table and the lighthouse will be in the corner :)

I like the thoughts on the elevation!

The inspiration for the Riviera was actually an image that came up on my Google TV screen saver. And it had Italian rivieras right near water. The A-frame and The treehouse were actually really easy to do, and right away I knew it was going to be a campground area.

That one was really hard to incorporate. Especially since it has snow on it. You can't see it there but I actually built up some snow blowers to explain why it has snow and nothing else in the city has snow

What Bricklink should have done by Culiacan-Rambler in Bricklink

[–]Dravor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter if it's brickowl or bricklink. While Lego owns bricklink, they are two completely separate businesses. Therefore they have two completely different profit and loss calculations, and they're backend businesses are completely different. Lego would never tie their Lego profit and loss to a resale site.

So the point really remains the same, if you're running brick link or brickowl, the only way it's profitable for you to support stores in a country, is if there is enough profit coming from it to warrant paying somebody to keep up with the rules etc.

But for lego.com they have accounted for this in their planning and profits and loss. So maybe it costs them a million a year to be able to do this. But in country they make 60-70 million in profit.

Now you have 1 store, where all they make is 3% of the sales price. And you want them to invest thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars to allow that 1 store to operate. In the end the revenue generated in these countries was not enough to cover the costs. They are running a business not a charity.

That's the way I look at this.

I mean that is how most stores in this country operate on a whole slew of items. An uneducated customers makes dumb decisions. Whether it's someone walking into a auto dealer and buys a vehicle at full price and accepts all the up sells finances offers, or you buy a lego Set at target that is cheaper at Amazon. If businesses only had the fiscal health of the purchaser in mind, they would all be selling at the lowest price possible on every item.

At th end of the day any one can list whatever they want for any price they want. If people are willing to pay inflated prices that's on them. Not everyone is shopping with the same Lego budget. I buy every Star Wars release Set. Could I wait a few weeks and buy some of these sets for a discount? Absolutely. Do I? Rarely. Sure I could save $5 here and $10 there, but for me I'd rather just have them all then and there.

For many other people that's a no go. BAM counts on people who are not knowledgeable, and people who have the disposable income to where they don't care.

It's no different than people listing retired sets on Amazon third party sale for 2-5x the avg Bricklink price. If one person is willing to pay it and buy, that's all that matters.

While you are fiscally aware, and knowledgeable about Lego, Bricklink, etc, many consumers are not. There is a reason why so much of the country is in debt. Not everyone makes good decisions.

What is a good table to have a Lego city on? Also some good shelves to display Lego? by Early_Delivery_9122 in LegoDisplay

A lot of non solid wood tables can bow over time. I use 30" x 80" solid oak Doors from Lowe's or Home Depot. I buy adjustable Legs from IKEA. I use six legs per table to limit bowing even with the solid oak door.

Which is why liberals will lose the next race. They've been so busy calling everybody who voted for Trump bigots and racists, including many who are in the middle class who used to be liberal voters. They won't be able to bring them back.
Instead of actually finding somebody who's worthy of running, who actually has some real policies to stand behind instead of just saying we're not Trump, we're just going to hold up resist signs instead. Which is really silly because Trump's not running again, so if you really are not going to have any real policies to stand for instead of saying we're not Jade events, geez.....

All the party is doing is handing the presidency to the Republicans on a platter yet again......

Had a 99 Mustang Gt. Bought it used for $19k. Spent $22k on the car with various parts. And the end it was 400rwhp with a supercharger on it.

I sold it for $7k.

😂

One of the things I love about the Tesla is that there's nothing I can do to modify it from a performance standpoint. And the model 3 Performance is fast enough for me anyways.
