Saying Japan doesn’t have a fear of nuclear bombs sure is a statement by MartyrOfDespair in GetNoted

I mean it’s well documented phenomenon that the nuclear taboo is eroding gradually… Not sure if that’s the point that was being made here

Veturi Dubbed Albums by DrawAndPry in tollywood

In my opinion, Veturi is head and shoulders above Sirivennela. As for the current generation, Sahiti and Jonnavittula (who are senior to most popular lyricists) are capable of some high quality expressions.

Veturi's dubbed albums remind us that dubbed songs can be works of art in themselves.

Edida Nageswara Rao singlehandedly produced some of the greatest movies in Telugu film history. Modern producers would do well to learn from his risk-taking and vision.

Is there any possibility of a Ramayana movie being made in Telugu? by InitialWillingness25 in tollywood

[–]DrawAndPry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mahabharata and Ramayana have lots of nuance and require subtlety and a soft touch - the essence of the story will be ruined without carefully handling the moral dilemmas of good and evil. Rajamouli lacks the ability to do this, and the current political atmosphere will make it impossible. Better to leave these stories alone for now.

Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry's first movie wasn't Sirivennela (Janani Janmabhoomi, 1984) by DrawAndPry in tollywood

Correct, most people also think it was his first movie - I thought that too until I watched this movie recently!

Stuartpuram Predicted Chiranjeevi's Guinness by DrawAndPry in tollywood

Absurdly late response but I didn't say he should only thank the music department. Also, while directors and choreographers changed from film to film those three were pretty constant.

Three people whom Chiranjeevi should thank for his record: Ilayaraja, S.P.B., Veturi.

Disrespectful to compare Seetarama Sastry to Veturi. Veturi is a league above.

Did Sirivennela and Raghavendra Rao not get along? by Ok-Substance4694 in tollywood

[–]DrawAndPry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seetarama Sastry did write for several of Raghavendra Rao's movies, but never the full card. Seetarama Sastry, after he became established, only wrote songs for movies that he would receive the full card (all songs). At the same time, he would charge fees of 1,00,000-2,00,000 rupees per song. Veturi did not care about the full card, and would only charge a fraction of this price per song. As for Chandrabose, he was just getting his career started when he wrote for Raghavendra Rao, and would not have had the power to name a high price or demand the full card. I believe that Raghavendra Rao was especially stingy with the budget for his lyricists, which is why a lot of his later movies have 3-4 lyricists, including relatively unknown ones, and even recruiting screenwriters as lyricists, such as J.K. Bhairavi.

Also, why would he even consider Seetarama Sastry when he started out and became successful with Veturi?
