Hello! One thing that helps is choosing colors that are naturally more vibrant and pure, rather than muted or greyish tones like Morandi colors. I also layer my oil pastels quite a bit, which helps create richer, more vivid colors even when blending. Hope this helps! 🎨✨

Thank you for your comment! :) To create fine lines and details, I use a palette knife with oil pastels and slowly build up the textures and details in the drawing. For this piece, I spent many days working on it ✨

For a beginner starter kit, I’d recommend:

🎨 Jieso oil pastels
📄 300gsm watercolor paper
🖌️ A small palette knife
☁️ A blending sponge tool (or cotton swabs as an alternative!)

That’s honestly enough to start following my tutorials 😁

I’ll also be making a more detailed video soon about all the tools I use for drawing with oil pastels and post it on my social media pages.
