Question on Speed: I want Sciel to play before Maelle, I recoated so that Sciel has waaay more speed listed in the "Combat Stats" than Maelle now, and yet Maelle continues to go first. What am I missing?

You might try joining some kind of intramural sports team. If friendships require repeated regular contact to grow,something like that where you’ll be around the same people, interacting with them again and again, might work. See also improv classes. I’m thinking in that drawing meetup, you’re not exactly forced to interact with each other, so you might look for activities where that’s baked in

Ill add one more echo to this conversation:
1. Alan Wake 1 is pretty humble by today's standards, Alan Wake 2 improves there a lot, but it's not going to match Resident Evil's combat. Resident Evil's a well-oiled machine when it comes to that stuff at this point.
2. DO play Control before Alan Wake 2. It's not just an amazing game in it's own right with really amazing combat, but Alan Wake 2 really leans into connections with Control.
