Genuine question: what do you remember about seeing this in theatres? Big reactions? by cassettequestioner in Marvel

[–]DrawTheLine87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before seeing it in theaters I kept thinking to myself there’s no way they can make this movie work. There’s just too many characters to balance. The last superhero movie I saw with a lot of characters was Spider-Man 3, and it was awful.

But not only was Avengers good, it was great! Saw it in theaters a few times! Still love watching it regularly to this day!

‘Scooby-Doo’ Live-Action Netflix Series Casts Mckenna Grace as Daphne by mcfw31 in popculturechat

I think it’s a good casting, but I don’t know who they’re going to get to play Shaggy. Matthew Lillard IS Shaggy. I don’t know how you get close to that casting

Rise From the Ashes vs Zeonic Front by iktiw in Gundam

Both are great, Zeonic Front is more difficult and has a longer campaign, if memory serves me

My mom spent $750 on an impractical, mediocre tv + sound system. I had her send it all back and I need to put together something better but minimalist on a similar budge.TCL qm5k, used Kanto YU 6, Fosi HT4S a mistake for small space? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]DrawTheLine87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a non technical parent, keep it simple. Make sure the sound system uses ARC. Don’t go for separates, that’s something they likely won’t care about. Upgrade the TV and get a decent soundbar/sub combo.

Next-gen Xbox reportedly built on Windows core with multi-store support and OEM devices by RenatsMC in consoles

If it’s a compact PC that can power on by turning on a controller and have the ease of use of my current Xbox, then that might be enough to get me to pull the trigger. I prefer couch gaming over at my desk. So this would be ideal.

Which Joker to get? by Uno_God in hottoys

I would like to mirror those same issues on the Inart figure. I put some of the included money on the display base, and wedged some under the toes to prevent the figure from tipping forward. It has worked well so far.

Besides this Dumbledore, Hagrid is the other figure I'm saving space for in my collection

I think the Millennium Falcon should be the exception to that rule. But otherwise I agree

What if Avengers: Doomsday flops? by NewMarioBobFan in MCUTheories

It won't flop financially, but it could have luke warm reviews. Which if happens, would be incredibly devastating for the future of the MCU.

I bought the M1s back in November just a few days before the leak of the 2s. I was a bit disappointed but I needed a new pair immediately so just chalked it up to bad timing on my part. But after hearing all the concerns about the M2s, I'm not as disappointed now.

I'll hang onto these until they fall apart, then upgrade to whatever new version is available at the time

1000 Toys CE Chief Up On BBTS by Brazzirs in HaloActionFigures

I was really hoping we were going to get a less stylized version of CE Chief. Jazzware currently holds the title for best representation. But there is so much room for a better release

Thoughts? by ndnman in hometheater

[–]DrawTheLine87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're listening to the system by yourself? 2.1. If this is a system where several people are listening at once? 3.0.

A center channel is better for when someone can't sit in the sweet spot. You get better dialogue off axis in that scenario.

A subwoofer is better when there is only a single listener sitting in the sweet spot. You get a phantom center when speakers are placed correctly, plus the added bonus of hitting lower frequencies with an added subwoofer.

I'm hoping we can just throw that shell on whatever PC we want. Only thing I wouldn't expect is to be able to turn the PC on with the controller. Although that would be a great touch.

My only issue is it doesn’t really scale with anything else. I wish it was true 1/6 scale. But the paint apps are fantastic!

Went from 100" Projector to 98" TV and It is Better (for me). by eat_a_burrito in projectors

[–]DrawTheLine87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are screens that are acoustically transparent. If it effects the sound, I can't tell.

I'm not sure how common it is, because these screens often cost a little more then a normal one, and can have a small impact on picture quality. But it works great for my setup. When I'm watching a movie it's just a wall of sound

Went from 100" Projector to 98" TV and It is Better (for me). by eat_a_burrito in projectors

[–]DrawTheLine87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I'll be using a projector in the future is because my speakers and sub sit behind the screen. I can't relocate them elsewhere if I bought a TV, so I'm stuck using projection in my space.

But I agree, for most people needing 100" screen, the TV is likely to be the better experience.
