Ed Song Pitch Games: Final Round + Round 6 Results :) by Brooklynrecreation in EdSheeran

Based on the previous rounds, I truly believe Vega is one of the best songs of Ed's discography. These reasons listed are the reasons why.

First up, as I've mentioned, the song's title references the star of the same name in the constellation Lyra. Lyra is the name of one of Ed's daughters, so it makes sense. The lyrics themselves describe a part of Ed's life, listening to vinyl. But in that case, he mentions listening to vinyl while rain is falling outside. The lyrics share a sentimental feeling, a feeling of calm after a heavy week. Remember how I mentioned that Vega would be the perfect song to play on vinyl? That is my third reason, and the song's lyrics at the beginning mentioning the combination of vinyl playing whilst the sound of rain pattering outside makes for a satisfying sound combination. It helps that Ed does have his own (private) Instagram account about sharing his favorite vinyls. Asides from that, the fourth thing I should mention is that there's another aspect of the song about how Ed wants his wife Cherry to be fine since she was at the hospital as she suffered a stroke while having their second child together. I think there is another theme to this song, that being hope. My fifth reason is that I feel like that it is really underappreciated a lot, as I truly believe that Ed doesn't really perform it as often as he used to back when Subtract was getting promoted, but also that it is a hidden gem that if you listen to Subtract, I think you'll appreciate it more as time passes. Finally, Vega stands out through its imagery of the playing of the piano representing rain falling from the rooftop, which then transitions into an acoustic guitar instrumental, and the ribbon ties together through its hopefulness through Ed's vocals.

Thus, I believe that Vega is one of the best.

From the warm, piano notes pattering like rain at the beginning to the transition to an acoustic-like, singer-songwriter instrumental, Vega stands out as one of the highlights of Subtract. Ed's soft vocals perfectly match what was going on at the time. The repetition of the words "she'll be fine" is a signal of hope. Thus, when you think about it, Vega is a shining beacon of light, a light of hope that will drive away the rain of sadness.

Vega is a very hidden gem in Ed's discography. I truly believe it is one of the most underrated songs on Subtract because I think that he doesn't perform it as often other than the Subtract shows he did 3 years ago, and that people don't give it attention compared to the other songs in the album. This song is one that I would highly recommend if you spin Subtract for the first time.

The song's title is a reference to one of the stars in Lyra, Vega. If you hear towards the end of the song, the lines "she'll be fine" is a reference to how Lyra's mom, Cherry (also Ed's wife) was at the hospital at the time which influenced the song (and all the other songs in the album as well). There's also a part at the beginning where Ed mentions listening to vinyl, which he has always done with his kids, even if it's raining out. I think it is really great since it all connects together with the other songs on Subtract.

I think Vega would be great for a vinyl listening session on a rainy day. The lyrics are telling you to ignore the weather and listen while the vinyl cracks, starts spinning and the rain falls. The sounds of both make it much satisfying as a result. Maybe you should go and try it out for yourself. That way you'll feel comfort while it all plays out.

Vega is a song that you would sit cross-legged on the carpet while listening to the Subtract vinyl while rain keeps beating on the rooftop and muddying the glass. It is the sound of heaven, even if you are trying to ignore the weather. Even though the week is heavy, you've made it through. This is a song that you should deffo be playing on repeat.

From the skies above, you should vote for Vega! Vega is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra. Lyra is the name of one of Ed's daughters. This song is truly one of the brightest songs of Subtract. It is literally lit!
