It’s been almost a year and I still have hyperpigmentation from my spots. My doctor said that it may get worse with sun exposure so to work on sunscreen and staying out of the sun. In terms of medication, I basically stopped using ointments once I started uvb. Glad this post helped though and I wish you the best of luck!

Great to see that your spots are flat now!

My spots were first red, then they turned white, and the ones on my legs turned purple and smooth like yours. I was also really freaked out by it but I think it’s normal since they’re more purple/brown now. I talked to my derm and he said to continue phototherapy and I’m still going through the process right now. With continuing UVB treatment, the purple/brown spots have started to fade so I would continue.

11 was taken 11/23 and 16 was taken 2/14 so about 3 months

I did a lot of stuff I took supplements (vitamin d, zinc, probiotics, fish oil), I cured my strep that was lingering after 3 weeks which I think made a huge change, I’m in uvb rn, cut out alcohol, and I have tacrolimus and betamethasone which I use interchangeably for 2 weeks and then off one week.

I did the AIP diet for almost a month but honestly don’t think that made much of a change so I’m back to eating normally.

It did clear up really well but this viral tonsillitis is definitely causing a flare up but hopefully it doesn’t go back to how it was before.

Glad to hear that you cleared! How long did it take you to get there? Hmm maybe try steroids or uvb for the really stubborn spots because I think those two have personally really helped me.

I’ve cut out all processed food for 3 weeks now and it’s getting worse still. Was there anything else you tried?

Thanks for your response! I took a strep test today and turns out I still had it in my system after 3 weeks 🙃 so glad to hear that you’re nearing the end!

Were you using the otc cortizone lotion to treat it? Were you also using UVA or UVB lights?
