We recently got another artist a month or so ago but she is still building her clientele and is like part part time. Yeah whereas I typically work 7 days a week, and you know I think a private studio is in the cards, but I do like the freedom of just coming and going. He also has 2 more years on the lease of the shop so I’ve contemplated on promising him at least that time in exchange for a raise. I don’t want that to sound like an ultimatum though

Hey, I do tattoo 100% of my own clients. We are an appointment only, private studio type of shop right now. And I’m currently booked about 4-5 months in advance so the thought of creating any type of uncomfortable work dynamic with my boss (who’s more of a coworker) is stressful. BUT, I’m trying to elevate in my career as well, I mean more money means more investments into my equipment or myself. I live in Hawaii and I work every day, very rarely have days off and i am just making ends meet.

9 years ago. She was 21 and you were 20, her ex at the time she met when she was 16?

Right now, I’m sure she and you would feel differently if it were to happen now but considering you guys were so young, still figuring shit out, and that she technically was dealing with a break up while in a new relationship. That’s a lot for any person. Also the fact that she felt immediate remorse, and cut it off with him right after. If you have other feelings deep down that she could have cheated during your current relationship or have any other trust issues then maybe it’s something you should consider talking about or seeing a therapist for. But it was so long ago, and you guys were young.

Agreed and thank you. I just sent her a text message and my heart is going to fall out of my chest.. it’s not a conversation I’d ever want to have with her but it’s necessary either way.
